Sign 3-4 UDFAs and 2-3 mid-tier FAs and/or make a trade or two - you know the other ways that are not the draft to build a team.

I'd say that Belichick decided that any WRs he drafted this year would have real trouble beating out the guys on the team. Edelman, Harry, Myers, the guy from the Cardinals, Lee and Gunner..probably missing some. But, the Patriots will be playing a lot of 2 TE sets with a FB. Ball control. They simply don't need a WR. They need OL depth, they need defense, and they needed TEs and of course a kicker.

That would be a good plan if they had a quality running back.

Disagree. He's a big, fast WR whose been putting up fine WR2/3 stats that would be welcome here. Obviously not for Thuney straight up, but a 5th or 6th could get it done next year.

No worries...18 years is surely not enough time to fairly evaluate BB's WR drafting ability.

And 8 years is surely not enough time to fairly evaluate your talent evaluation ability. That 2014 team still a 7-9 team at best?
