yea he just likes to trade to make it all the more interesting. Dumb post. One of the headlines reads "Patriots reportedly exploring trading down in Day 2 of NFL Draft. Isn't it obvious that BB is more interested in making trades than in obtaining
good players for his football team. Maybe, this is why his drafts the last 4 years haven't
been so hot.

Normally I would agree as its smart business but the NEP need a number of good, young, cheap players this year. The more I think about it, trading out of 37 for the Saints 2021 1st could be a really good move. With no Teddy Bridgewater as a backup the Saints are a Drew Brees injury away from having a good pick next year. If we could get their 2021 1st and maybe something like swap one of our 4ths for their 3rd it would still give us 5 3rd round picks. If we Trade Thuney for another day 2 pick that would give us even more ammo to target particular players we like.

Can you please create a new thread that more people will see? No one dares ignore the Goddess of GDT's
Lol, @Ian is going to take care of that. I've gotten a few messages from posters about not being able to see the thread because of people being on ignore.
If Ian can't do it before 7pm, I will create a new draft thread. Hopefully, not too many people have ne on ignore. Lol
Pats are getting a WR.
Bank on it.
My thoughts on need:
Not looking at all pro at every position but the liklihood of improving the team.
QB. Need to take one at some point. If they believe stidham can be the man I trust the staff and their ability to educate QBs. The arm is there. Transactions at this spot will tell you whether they believe the mental part is there and the maleability. But need a draft choice for backup/competition.
RB. I do not see a need here, including FB
WR. Everyone other than Edelman and Harry can be upgraded. Theoretically a lot today and a little through round 7.
TE. All 3 types of TE, blocker, receiver, full time can be upgraded and any decent draft choice should be able to make the roster. I see 2 being picked this weekend.
OL assuming the health of last years 2 choices I wouldn’t use anything earlier than 5 on ol (need wise) but every draft should have at least 1 ol.
DT. A big huge run stuffing stud would be the best thing this d could add. Aside from that guy, Allen, butler, cowart is a pretty solid group.
De/Olb. Whether we are 4-2 base or 3-3 base 2 of this group is on the field whether you call them de or olb. I think it looks more like 4-2 and last year was an adjustment to the roster. I think winovich replaces van noy and I’m good with that. The other side is Simon/Copeland/Wise and I see it as upgradeable early but after round 4 we won’t improve what we have.
LB we play 2 LBs max (see de/olb description for the 3rd) we have Hightower and Bentley. We have no depth. Any lb drafted should make the roster but won’t play a lot. This is a mid round need to me.
S- an early pick could be S3 or S2 if Chung can’t stay healthy. Jujuan moving here is a possibility. Early pick will make the roster late pick would have to be st demon.
CB- no need but the late pick on the special team demon with upside could make the team.
K. Need one. Obviously.
P don’t. Obviously.
I'm not going to disagree other than if we think 2020 is a retool year and 2021 is a reload one, I'd want the 2020 rookies in position to make that 2nd year leap in 2021.I agree we need a number of good, young players, I just don’t think rookies are going to fill our holes in 2020. I never expected to get more than 1 starter for 2020 out of this draft, I think most of those holes will be filled by veteran signings later on in the offseason. I think this draft is more about the next 3-4 years instead of 2020. I think there are a lot of guys in the late 2nd-early 4th round that may not be major contributors right away but could develop into starters in another year or two.
For me the value of a future 1st round pick while also moving one of our later picks into the top 100 this year would be too hard to pass up. I really like some of the talent in the 3rd round this season which also makes it easier to forgo #37 if we were to trade it.
Even the least active members have noticed that ol' tb12 loves him some thread starting action. RACES to do it!Ian said that he was gong to start this, so we wouldn't have a normally well-trafficked thread started by someone who LOTS of people have on an ignore list, thus they won't see it.
We have that here.
