Belichick doesn’t trade up, only down or out. Only trades up for bust DBs.
Which is a very Patriot-y thing to do (see Joejuan Williams and Damien Harris).
Talking about the position rather than the player, I’m going to have to disagree I’m afraid. Unless you’re in our position, I don’t think you can have too many CBs in today’s NFL (although we seem to have managed it).
However, where I agree, is that I think the Dolphins could have done better.

End of thirdSo our strategy is to own the 3rd round apparently lol
Williams and Harris kind of make my point, Manx. Drafting non-playing players at stocked positions results in wasted years.
Caserio said the Patriots had a handful of players they were discussing at No. 23 overall.
I watched ND a lot and I like him so maybe an over reaction, but I see him as another WR who tests faster than he plays and can’t get separation in the NFL. He plays hard and is a willing blocker from the wr position, but we need guys who can separate from defenders.OK. Can’t comment unfortunately. Interesting size/athleticism though.
Another reason why Brady left. He had enough of the trade outs. BB may as well just give the 2nd round pick away as his history with it is abysmal.

BB Honks - "Stop criticizing BB's drafting. He's stuck drafting at the bottom of every draft! It's a lot easier to hit on players when you're drafting higher!"
Also BB Honks - "What makes BB so great at drafting is that he likes to drop down for more picks. More good players is better than fewer great players"
Trade outs are fine, as long as you hit with the resultant picks. BB's recent problem hasn't been lack of picks, though Roger's certainly not been a help there. BB's recent problem has been bad picks.
a study of the ‘great players’ we’ve missed out on by trading out would be an interesting project. That’s not sarcasm but genuine.
