I expected it as i wrote many days ago on coronavirus thread :(

Makes sense. I just recently heard of his cordillavirus thing. It seems serious. Be safe out there, you guys.

I'm taking the proper measures now too. They're telling me I can no longer have 50+ get togethers and that I need to limit it to no more than 10 people at once. So now I'm hanging with 26 different sets of 9 people on a 30 minute rotation while awake throughout the day.

You should also have each of those groups disperse to small cities that don't yet have a high infection rate, to clear their lungs and pick up some groceries.

So the question is, if they do postpone the start of the season, does that mean everything gets pushed back or does it mean fewer regular season games?

Cancel season

Brady retires

He never wore that **** uniform

That's a silver lining if I ever saw one

There will be no season.

the upside is that Brady might retire if no season, the downside is that the Chiefs will be champs for 2 years !!! OMG....that is worse than Brady playing for Tampa !!!

Love the guy who commented 18 games in 12 weeks. It would have been perfect if he added the union voted yes for an extra half point of revenue.

No season = Jest don't have a losing record.....

How about a single elimination 32 team tournament? How sick would that be?

No idea yet. They managed to push back the season a week after 9/11, so it's at least possible, although I think a shortened season is more likely if it would start overlapping with, say, March Madness.

There will be no season.

I think it's far too early to make that call. [I know the Olympics were postponed, but that's an order of magnitude bigger than an NFL season.]

I can't imagine stadiums of 60,000 + coming back this year. Right now the NBA is bracing for maybe Sept but they also just found out the China NBA league which was supposed to start in April just got pushed to May and even that date is not certain. I think 2020 is gone for sports which is a real bummer.

March Madness cancelled.

Olympics delayed to 2021.

Baseball suspended for now.

NBA and NHL likely to be shut down, IMO.

It ain't looking good for the NFL.....I think we still do a draft....but no OTA's and late start to TC at best, IMO.

Baseball is by far impacted the most because of the weather. They will not be playing at all in the summer IMO which means their season is over.

Football has a bigger problem than other sports because of the huge rosters.

But as long as owners are OK with no fans in the stands, they could make this work.

The problem of course is the owners will lose money if they have to rely on TV revenue only.

On the other hand, the ratings would be through the roof.

So they're not going to lose as much money from ticket sales as they might imagine.

I would encourage them to play the season without any fans (NOTE: I am a staunch advocate of social distancing, isolation, for 2 to 3 months, so I'm not a denier). I'll take this to the corona thread now.
