I know TYT from a sometimes cable tv show and I think a podcast - is that what you're talking about it?

Are you using "...member" of The Young Turks as parallel to saying that Steve Doucey (sp?) is a "member" of Fox and Friends?

Or is there another TYT I don't know about? I know during Ataturk's time c. 100 years ago, TYTs were actually a political entity.

Are you saying there is such an entity again by that name today? Or just that he is a contributor to a podcast/cable show?

I noticed someone posted the superimposed charts of Italy's responses or lack thereof, and our own. We look like Italy minus 2-3 weeks, basically. But one point was surprising to me: Italy closed their schools and locked down on a national level. Look at the nationwide school closures & lockdown. For Italy, 3/4 and 3/18. Well, you can explain away why we're too stupid to do a nationwide lockdown 2 weeks "ahead" even if we know it's the way to go.

But we still don't have nationwide school closures. They've had that since 3/4.

It's like we're TRYING to beat Italy for worst eventual outbreak.

The YouTube channel/company run by Cenk uygur. Named after a genocidal group. I believe He also denied the Armenian genocide for years I believe and I’m not sure he’s even acknowledged it yet. Recently ran for Congress and got destroyed. And he does not understand basic probability theory either

So I see TYT on occasion they have a you tube channel and he was a cast member who was on al the time. He broke off and now has his own you tube ch. He is a true believer progressive and was a Sanders delegate to the last dem convention. I enjoy hearing from many points on the political spectrum, without abusing my self with the TV.

I am hopeful that Trump wil streamline the process of getting the Quinine solution ramped up and into the front lines with minimal delay. Bayer is donating 6 million tablets that's a start. Since these drugs are not proprietary perhaps other sources can be brought to bear quickly to help those at high risk. h grandson has been out for over a week. I am angry about the fear porn being pushed on kids. my wife caught him in tears the other day, he was worried that he could die from the virus. We had to explain who was at risk and who was not at risk. I wish the media were more responsible.

As to the virus, I go to work as I always have. I take reasonable precautions but not willing to live my life in fear. I hope you and MRS and family stay safe.

Uh...I don't recall you EVER broaching this subject on these threads ANYWHERE since 2016. It's as if you never knew anything at all about this current situation. Now if you're playing the "hindsight is 20/20" game that's fine but just SAY IT up front...and that goes for all of you speaking in absolutes on either side of this pandemic firestorm. The title of this thread is "CORONAVIRUS DISCUSSION" not "I hate/love Trump!". The virus is NOT partisan.

I'm a leadership coach and organizational consultant by trade. I'm making observations about current leadership, because I believe the key to this, and future similar situations, is collective learning. I'm scared and frustrated that we collectively seem intent on not learning a damn thing.

I don't belong to the Democratic party and never have. If Hillary Clinton had been elected and behaved this way, my post would have been the same. If you could see what I wrote about her husband's betrayal of his role at the time, you'd get me here.

It is normal and possible to criticise leaders behavior without it being angled at pushing one candidate or party ahead of the other.

So given that, why did you assume I was being partisan?

I'm curious of how he comes to certain conclusions such rate of death and infection etc when we have minimal test results to base that on.

Anyway I hope he's right but either way testing is needed and we're about to do that. We'll know a lot more in a week or two.

The other option is to increase capacity with more beds and equipment which is apparently what they are trying to do. How long will this take is key but at least its happening.

To build that infrastructure properly, in the US, would take about two years. It needs to be permanent, because the next pandemic is not many years out. We (humanity) keep intruding into nature in ways that will just keep bringing this on. So we need bricks and mortar, as domestic hospitals and factories, not tents and outsourced capacity.

It was obvious after reading the first two paragraphs that this was borderline dishonest in the way it twists facts and isn’t logical.
