What does Carr give us the best chance to win? Because it's definitely not going to be a Super Bowl.

Cousin, My opinion differs from yours. I have reason to doubt a 4 pass, one pick six kid is going to win us a game or two. O.K. he can be a game manager which is what I am sure Josh has in mind. But can he pass us to a win?

This is a pretty good stat for a guy like Carr who has been in the League for a small sample of years (only 28) on weak Teams.

18 Fourth Quarter Comebacks, 19 Game-Winning Drives

Now the shocker. These game winners were better numbers than Raiders greats, Lamonica and Blanda. Better than HOF Griese, Bobby Layne, Norm Van Brocklin, Joe Namath, Bart Starr, Len Dawson, Kurt Warner and Otto Graham.
Last time I looked there are a few SB winners there. Is he as good as them?.....no.... but "He gives us the best chance to win.".

So I ask the Jury, can a 28 year old QB who fits our offense better than the Raiders, succeed under the new tutelage of Josh and win a game or two for us? Or is Stidham anointed the new TB 12? Carr is NOT TB 12, I get it,

I hope I am wrong to be concerned about Stidham, but if not I have straws I am selling for the Patriot Kool-aid

But historically, you find good QBs in the first and second rounds. Russell Wilson and Dak Prescott are the exceptions.

Everyone else is a 1st rounder or Garoppolo in the 2nd.

Don't even bother trying to find another Brady in the 6th.

Looking back, teams screwed up royally by not taking Deshaun Watson when they should have. I bet everyone looks back on Watson and thinks, I don't want to let a guy like him go by again. As long as you don't draft EJ Manuel.
You are right about the history, but there are exceptions to every rule.

JAX just found a 6th round QB last season (Minshew) who has beaten out a 1st pick of the 1st round of the draft guy (Winston).

Money is a part of that equation, but we all know NE is in the red cap wise after our recent run of 3 out of 4 SBs so money will be a factor for us too.

Remember we were all kinda miffed when he was lost to NYJ. Obviously the position is well-stocked now. Figured I'd note it.

Makes sense. Hoyer has all the experience in the world and could be the ideal mentor for Stidham. If he is fine coming back on the cheap.
Let’s speed up the inevitable.
Offer Hoyer a position as an assistant coach / practice squadder

The Patriots don't have enough money to sign a waterboy.

Bridgewater's deal with the Panthers still isn't official, I don't think they've been able to do a physical yet. Any other big name signings being delayed?

Here we go. This will be a pretty good indicator for how we will address a potential vet QB addition.
If this is the Qb they sign in free agency the need to draft another qb increases.

Or the Stidham love is real.

The love may be real. A Plan B requires another option to compete with Stidham for the future. Of course, Plan B (if Stidham fails in 2020), would be for the team to sue a couple of firsts and/r $40M a year to secure a QB in the next offseason.

If this is the Qb they sign in free agency the need to draft another qb increases.

Not really. It just means they are happy with Stidham and add an experienced mentor to widen the support network.

Yes they might still take a QB late on day 3 (or udfa) depending on what they think about Kessler. But apart from that I wouldn't expect any moves.

I'm curious how they rank Stidham one year into the system vs Herbert or Eason.
