OT but we don't know long I'll be alive ( I'm a dentist and according to the NY Times and common sense at the highest risk of getting exposed to the virus though we shut down for everything except emergencies -pain/swelling/infection). No symptoms yet but praying G-d forgets or forgives a few of my transgressions in my youth......the frat rats were worth it though...
Your picture of Damon reminded me of the night he won the Academy Award for Good Will Hunting. He thanked a guy by the name of Gerry Speca, his drama coach/teacher at Cambridge Ringe and Latin ( he also taught the Aflecks)....Speca taught at my high school before being fired ( too counter cultural for the mid 70s) and we joked we could have been movie stars instead...
Stay safe PFIP

Staying shut in at home isn’t always “safe” for far too many people...

I fear the isolation, depression, violence, economic strife... could exceed the physical threat the virus poses. I hope breakthroughs come ahead of projections.

Gotta get outside. Hikes. Fish. Run. Walk. Golf. Shoot some hoops. Yard work.

Staying inside all the time is going to lead to a lot of suicides, spread the virus, and will probably lead to another mass shooting when some (probably white) dude reaches the breaking point that he was already teetering on before this happened.

If you’re not faint of heart, watch videos of the Wuhan Market. Animals, many that most civilized, non-savage idiot civilizations would keep as pets, butchered. Hacked to death, blood and limbs all over the place, rotting in cages. It’s no wonder this virus came out of there.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but also watch videos of slaughterhouses or chicken coops in America. China hardly has a monopoly on cruelty to animals (or people who deal with animals).

I’ve been running a lot outside and doing push-ups and sit-ups since I can’t go to the gym. My yard is in the best shape it’s ever been in. I’m actually online as we speak shopping for a home gym and I’m either going to convert my outside shed into a makeshift gym or drop it into my garage. Checking out this one currently..

I dont know if this is true or not, but the article does state her assets are in a blind trust
Most of these dead beats didn't earn their $. They were born into it and others run it for them.

Loeffler and her NYSE chairman husband absolutely insider traded and I don't care how many tweets she sends out saying she didn't.

I’ve seen them and what we do to pigs. It’s child’s play compared to that market and, by contrast, “cleaner,” if that’s at all possible. I know you’re not disagreeing but, just to drive the point home, can you point to one market in America like that?

My Monday night hoop league has been cancelled but I'm running outside now and my golf league starts today.

I wfh anyway so this is no big deal but the lack of business travel is driving me nuts

Inhofe and Feinstein seem to just be very rich people whose wealth managers made big trades at an inopportune time. (For example, Feinstein sold her holdings in a biotech firm, which doesn't really point to insider trading if you know a pandemic is coming, and which actually hasn't really suffered during the crash.) They should still be investigated but they don't look as bad as Burr or Loeffler, both of whom seem to have clearly engaged in profiteering.

Did you see how Granny prepared her Possum stew on the Beverly Hillbillies? Grotesque.

I think you're mistaking me with someone who apologizes for the People's Republic of China. I think they should shut down these markets too, but I also think we should change our own practices with regard to livestock (and if that means making meat a more expensive luxury good, such is life).

Your wife must be a saint.

The only Beverly Hillbillies movie I saw was the abomination with Jim Varney. I always get that confused with “Slums of Beverly Hills,” where the red head from “American Pie” uses a vibrator in the bathroom at the beginning of the movie. I saw that movie when I was like 9-10 years old and that scene always stuck out for some odd reason.

its insider trading if any of those senators conveyed inside knowledge to their wealth managers who used that info to dump stock...

Correct. I think they absolutely did but whatever. If the SEC wants to investigate I'm all for it.

If it happens to you, don’t fear death. You know who is waiting for you when you cross over. I hope he greets you as a child and then as a grown man, who you can converse and catch up with.
