Brady gone

"New England, you're just like everybody else now"

- Rex Ryan

Can’t stand rexie but they’re back to pack. The media has been waiting for this for a long time. Basically the end of the dynasty.

#TankForTrevor

Maybe?

:D
Why not? The team is cap strapped and depleted of talent. Their core from the run in the 2010s has aged. Why not regroup? They won’t, but let’s not act like it would be the worst thing in the world.

Is Brady going to pull a McDaniels here and come back? Posturing?

They both acted in character.

Tom has a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove himself elsewhere. BB put the team first.

Business as usual but this time the outcome is different and it hurts like hell.

I still respect them both and will root for both of them.
I still have a hard time seeing how BB put the team first by having someone other than Tom Brady be QB, but I certainly agree that’s what BB thinks he did.

There is something else going on, with Brady and the team. I hate to say this but this has rift written all over.
I wonder what all the people who were adamant the Wickersham piece was 100% total unadulterated crap think now.

And it was a suicide

I'm ready for the next era, whenever that starts.

The pandemic, market crash, and economy as today's context for all this do provide some perspective.

But I've always enjoyed the team building part of this nearly as much as the actual games, so seeing what BB and the rest of htat coaching staff do now will be good entertainment. We, and everyone else, will get some fresh data regarding the age old question: How much of this run of excellence is because of Brady?" That'll be fun.

Frankly, glad we can put this drama behind us.
May Tom’s screen pass game thrive where ever he ends up.

PS: Because Brady specifically referred to himself as a California kid, I expect him to sign with a LA team

i just cant believe these guys couldnt figure out a way after knowing each other for 20 yrs.
"Knowing each other for 20 years" may be exactly why they couldn't. By know they know exactly what to expect from the other and may well have been tired of it and know it wasn't going to change.

All good things come to an end. We'll never see this kind of run in our lifetime or ever. Lucky we were fans of the team that did it!
I got to see Ted Williams. I got to see Bill Russell and Larry Bird. I got to see Bobby Orr. And I got to see Brady. Hey, it just doesn't get any better than this. No complaints fro any quarter!

I'll tell you. tho. This kind of feels like when the Bruins traded Espo and Vadnais. Feels a little ambivalent, but in the long run, they'll be OK.

Just tank for Trevor. 6-10 or 8-8 gets you nowhere. Then keep the dynasty rolling

Not 100% because people is people. But Wickersham is hollow soul like his master.

I just logged online and saw the news.

Helluva thing to wake up to.

At least it's St Patrick's day, so I can add some Jameson to my morning coffee. I'm gonna need it. :(
slainte mo chara

BB played Brady for a sucker the last couple of years. In 2018, he gave Brady a
contract loaded with incentives that were impossible to meet. In 2019, BB raised Brady's contract from 15 mil to 23 mil. Last year was a comedy of errors with a mishmash of
wide receivers and tight ends and an inconsistent running game. This year, Brady was
expected to take a pay cut.

Sorry, but this is one of the biggest garbage takes I've seen.

Last year was more about all the injuries/retirement on the O-line (2 retirements before camp, 3 injured before camp ended, and the LT going down 2 weeks in) . That's why the running game was inconsistent. You could have had Barry Sanders in his prime back there and he'd have been mediocre.

The mishmash of WR and TE. Yeah.. Because BB is supposed to be clairvoyant and know that the 6 VETERAN TEs he signed weren't going to work out.

BB is supposed to be clairvoyant and know that AB and Josh Gordon were going to self-destruct less than half-way through the season. He's supposed to know that Sanu was going to suffer a high-ankle sprain that wouldn't heal properly and would require surgery after the season.

It's amazing how you try to re-write history. The 2018 contract restructure was the Patriots adding $5M in incentives to Brady's existing contract. OH MY GOD. How evil of them to give Brady the chance to make more money.

OMG.. They are so bad for upping Brady's salary to $23M.

Hey, with the expanded playoffs now, 8-8 might get you the 7th seed!

I just got an alert on my phone form the score that said Pats and Brady didn't even negotiate.

BB Clearly wanted Brady gone.

All I can think of now is how relatable this is now. The Denise Show :(

Tom,
You are the GOAT QB but more important a role model and great person. Thanks to your leadership and consistently taking team friendly contracts, we enjoyed 20 years of unprecedented success. Endings are sad but I wish you nothing but success with your new team. Thank you for leading the Pats to six Lombardi trophies. You will be missed but never forgotten.
Thanks Don, this made me cry.
