Lets leave it alone, OK?

I asked about it because I want to know the truth. If either side is using this bill to advance an unrelated agenda that should piss us all off.

Seems there was no language at all that mentioned the Hyde thing.

GOP wanted it added...
Right-wing media and abortion opponents hype misinformation about the coronavirus spending bill

Republicans complained about a problem with regards to an end run of the Hyde Amendment and some of the funding, which they felt could lead to federal funding for abortion services. Pelosi acknowledged that there was a language issue, and reports are that the language in question was dealt with. It's probably best just to leave it at that, particularly since the issue has been resolved at least to the point of the bill now having the President's support. If there was ever a need for people getting up in arms over the situation, that time is past (at least for now).

Hey man, I'm really not trying to pick a fight with you. I just wanted to know the facts around this one thing so your platitudes about politics/partisanship aren't helping.

Thats what happens when there isn't trust.

I'd say that it is more like what happens when there's a lack of dialogue across the aisle even on an issue everyone should be able to come together on and the completely partisan face everything takes in Washington. As for trust, the last vestiges of it died in that swamp so long ago even the bones of the people that attended the funeral have turned to dust.

Thats what happens when there isn't trust.

Did some more digging:

There's an amendment in the original Democratic Bill, which specifies that"Claims reimbursed under this section would be limited to those for uninsured individuals not eligible for other COVID-19 testing and services assistance included in the bill."

Are the GOP afraid that a pregnant woman with COVID-19 might decide to have an abortion? Kind of a stretch, I think.

I stated PP does not/will not provide virus testing. That is a fact.

Sorry of you don't want to hear politics on both sides are at work. That is also a fact.

Moving on.

Just got back. I was amazed with the bottled water available. Pallets and stacks everywhere. Meanwhile, everything else had been hoarded.
I went to a Korean supermarket just now. Place was jam packed, but they had rice, tons of meats, milk, plenty of dried and frozen goods, produce galore, etc. The staff was hustling to replenish shelves. Great job by them.

@Ice_Ice_Brady and @TB_Helmet, you may want to do this if places like Safeway, Costco and Target are pissing you off.

Regards,
Chris

Again, it's a matter of trust.

The best I can decipher is that there was some discussions regarding the Hyde bill but not about abortion specifically but because of the wording in the bill the Republicans feared the language could have led to abortion issues later on.

Anyway it doesn't seem like either party was trying to get sneaky rather they argued for language that protected each other's interests for now and later on.

Biden is running for a job for which he doesn't know the starting date...

Mike Pence’s 2020 VP (to be on the ticket) odds now at only 75%. Wonder if Trump is planning to dump him over the Coronavirus.
