Positive news!

Dude might play here as long as Brady has at this rate tbh.

The dude is turning 35 years old. I think it's incredible he is still a top ST player at this age.

This contract also ensures he will retire a Patriot.

Where does Slater rate on your list of favorite Patriots of this era? For me it's pretty high and that's a testament to the kind of guy and leader he is. He's a STer thats on the list of guys I want in the Patriots HoF.

That's not the extension we are looking for

Low key special re-signing. Happy they were able to get something done. We need more Slaters on this team.

Now do Ebner.

Great signing. You can never have enough glue guys in a locker room.

cant have enough special teams players. how did that help us out last year? lol but hey in bill we trust

Then:

then the likes of ... Slater...should mostly be easy re-signings.

Slater's not going to command more than the sort of money he got in the past couple of years

Slater: 2019: $2.8m base, $400k in game roster bonus, cap hit $5.1m. Why would you think he'd get much more than that?

If Slater and Ebner are getting about the same as last year, there's no significant change in outlay there.

Now:

The Patriots & special teamer/WR Matthew Slater have agreed to a two-year extension, per sources. The deal is similar to his last, which averaged $2.6M/year.

I got one right, at least. I might as well enjoy it until BB goes off the reservation (of my guesses). Other than having a happy/having a sad over this sort of thing and, hopefully, free agency in general, it doesn't look as if there's going to be much football to talk about for a little while.

Guess he doesn’t need “player of the week” or whatever garbage to be happy in NE.

Where you at TB?

Great news!!!

I might be getting a Slater jersey if the Pats part ways with Brady and Ghost. If so, Slater will be our longest tenured player (13th season).

He’ll finish his playing career in NE and then move straight into the special teams coaching job.

Normally players have to wait but I think he would be an exception to that rule. He’s that good.

A great ST player, team spirit for a friendly price. Next is TB12 - go on Tom,just do it!
