Shows how phony the NFL's anti-gambling rhetoric all these years has been.

Now, for its 2020 season, the NFL will allow teams to sign with casino and sportsbook sponsors and build out betting lounges inside their stadiums, the league told teams last week, first reported by Sports Business Journal.

Only teams with legal sports betting in their state (that number is 14 and growing quickly) will be able to sign such sponsorships, and only with casinos or sportsbooks that are licensed in the state.
...
The lounges will be confined to the area of stadiums known as the upper bowl.

These will basically be designated physical spaces for mobile betting on smartphones.
NFL further warms to gambling by allowing stadium betting lounges

Wasn’t it our very own Early Bird Bob who kicked this off with an ownership stake in Draft Kings?

Goodell is nothing if not a trend following sycophant

What could possibly go wrong??

Condemning something precisely until the opportunity presents itself to profit from it is classic NFL.

Where do the players pick up their share and/or winnings?

Yeah, the secondary economy of the NFL, with fantasy, gambling, hospitality, clothing and gear...will probably eclipse the primary market at some point for the owners. Hope the players don't get outmaneuvered.

Do you folks think you'll EVER make a legal bet at Gillette stadium? The complete and utter morons at the state house will never get their Schitt together r.e. sports betting. They have to find out what pols hands will get greased, what sjw cause will get this %, what sjw cause will get that %...by the end of the day betting in MA will cost you 120 to win 100...**** the azzholes in state govt, Baker included

You should've been born a Native American and started a casino that sure as schitt would show your old positive self.

Wow, look at the hypocritical quote from Goodell in that story. By the way, How do we know the referees are clean? Anybody can be gotten to and there is ample evidence in many of their blatant WTF calls and non calls that something is rotten.
NFL Referees go through a thorough background check conducted by the FBI. Let us not assign to malice that which can be simply attributed to mere incompetence.

Sure there are incompetent calls but the WTF calls and non calls are the ones everybody and their grandmother sees when it is right in front of the referee and you know something is up. It may not be gambling corruption but may be the NFL tilting a game to increase drama, ratings etc. The top corporate guys we should know by now have no soul and money is all that matters. The on field refs have direct contact with New York.

The pass interference review was a stupid, knee jerk call. The NFL should make all "egregious" calls reviewable in postseason, provided the call/non-call happens in the vicinity of the ball and not offensive holding or a pre-snap offsides/false start/illegal formation.

The odds are the next massive, incomprehensible blown call will not be a PI call but something entirely different. The 2019 PI experiment was a predictable journey through idiocy.

No, you kinda don't "know" something is up. Officiating around all sports is atrocious. Why should the NFL be any different?

Weak. If the League wanted to rig games, they wouldn't do it with WTF calls. They would do it with an extra holding penalty here or PI there.

Are intimating that the complete and utter idiots at the State House KNOW what they're doing when it comes to sports betting?

I hear they're hitting on 58% of their picks against the spread.
