Think about it: they traded Brandon Marshall only a couple of days after Dez Bryant visited Denver.

They must like Bryant enough to take him at 11, otherwise you don't trade Marshall. You couldn't trade him, it'd be too much of a sacrifice considering the rest of the WR talent.

Think about it: they traded Brandon Marshall only a couple of days after Dez Bryant visited Denver.

They must like Bryant enough to take him at 11, otherwise you don't trade Marshall. You couldn't trade him, it'd be too much of a sacrifice considering the rest of the WR talent.

Yup. He may be on their draft board but not in round 1. Round 3 or something like that.

I would be shocked if they drafted Bryant. They got rid of one headache whom they knew only to replace him with an unknown headache? I don't think so.

I would be shocked if they drafted him. Sounds more like they are building him up so they can trade down from 11 with some some sap of a team. You would think that all those teams (and draftnics for that matter) that have been kicked in the teeth by first round WR busts would learn but they don't.

For Denver, I like this scenario better as a best case scenario working out. Like Tampa Bay, Kansas City, Philadelphia and New England, you'll have options in the second round.

With the 11th pick in the draft, the Broncos could pick Dez Bryant—if he is available.

However, there is a very good chance that he will not be. Chances are Denver goes another direction than wide receiver with that pick.

The good news is that with the Marshall trade, the Broncos now have an extra second-round pick. The second round is where a lot of drafts are won. That is where Denver could possibly go get their wide receiver.

Chances are a guy by the name of Golden Tate will be available.

Not only was Tate working in a pro-style system, but it is a very similar system to what Denver uses. After all, Josh McDaniels was taught by Charlie Weis.

While Kyle Orton will be the quarterback to start the year, many suspect that Brady Quinn will eventually take over. That would be a Notre Dame connection. More importantly, that would be a quarterback and receiver in a system they are both comfortable with.

For all those reasons, Golden Tate to the Denver Broncos makes a lot of sense.

In support of Gosselin, Mike Mayock has Dez Bryant as a top five talent in this draft. Where he actually gets drafted depends on the risk assessment of reward and risk for every GM.

If he falls to 22, would be surprised if Belichick passed on him.

The article suggest that a team could select Bryant before Denver. I thought about it, and one team that could take him is Buffalo. They'd lost their top starting wide receiver to free agency, and Lee Evans isn't a #1 wide receiver.

The Bills could target a quarterback such as John Skelton or Jonathan Crompton in later rounds.

Nix on the Bills' WR position: "We’ve got six guys on our roster. Some of them we don’t know a lot about. Steve Johnson hasn’t played much. James Hardy has been hampered. We’d like to find out about those guys. We’ll carry 10 to camp and we may pick up one or two in the draft. Everybody talks about it not being a good draft for receivers. There are some good receivers and there’ll be some throughout the draft, so we’ll fill the next four through the draft and free agency."

Well, there are three answers to that question.

One answer would be simple: they pass on him. The Bills simply select the top player on their board not named Clausen, and go on with their draft, while his availability does not affect their draft plan at all.

Another answer would be to draft him.

The third option is definitely the most intriguing: a trade. If Clausen is on the board at No. 9, will quarterback-needy San Francisco come calling?

The 49ers are without a doubt the most likely suitor if a trade were to happen. A league source told the San Jose Mercury News that if Clausen were available at the 49ers first pick, " there’s little doubt that the 49ers would select the Notre Dame QB at 13."
