Will anyone watch the XFL this weekend?

I don't know. Maybe. But this IS a WWE gig, so I wouldn't be surprised if they're aiming at a younger audience.

Plus, everyone knows that the WWE is about great villains as well as heroes.
This isn’t a WWE gig at all LMFAO. That’s what got them in trouble last time. This is a pure lower-end segment of spring football. They need eyes and revenue to get off the ground in Y1. They’ve poured their resources into making sure those eyes and that revenue come from a certain segment of society. That segment does not like Colin Kaepernick. So yes, signing Kaepernick effectively alienates that audience and strategically ****s them in their first year out of the gates. That audience is collectively the XFL’s early adopters. That’s not an audience they want to alienate.

Jesus, they are called heel's and babyfaces. Get it together man:rolleyes:

FWIW, Oliver Luck stated publicly that they had talks with Kaepernick's representatives, but that Kaepernick wanted what was termed an "exorbitant" amount of money.

I just threw on a game. They are clearly piping in crowd noise.

I don’t have a horse in this race and I’m very neutral about the entire kneeling phenomenon. I think K is not NEARLY the player he and some others think he is...

If K was 70% of Brady is his prime, he’d be employed. While some argue he is better than some backups, the truth is he is SO far behind “what is worth the hassle” that I can’t blame teams from staying away. Can you imagine how many interviews and questions would be bombarding his team ? Over a backup.

The NY-DC game this afternoon was unwatchable. The refs looked like they stopped enforcing the play clock because neither team could get a play off in time. It was just awful football.

Their paychecks from last week probably bounced.

Can’t they make it like NFL blitz. I don’t want to watch regular football if it’s not NFL. Pointless. There should be no pass interferences. Receivers and DB’s just beat the **** out of each other.

Are you seeing any actual demographics on the audience, or is this your guess?

I ask because out here in LA, they're pushing the XFL hard, and that's not the typical demographic out here at all.

They’re going to advertise to all demographics, of course. They need to. But their core segment that they need to get them off the ground is the extremely patriotic and older white demographic. They are the audience that was turned off by the NFL and how they handled kneeling during the NA in 2016 and 2017.

Let's be honest, those miserable people never stopped watching the NFL. They complain about everything and are used to getting their way - and they did. If Kaepernick was playing they'd watch the games so they could tug their ****s every time he threw an incomplete pass and post blurry memes on Facebook about it.

The reason Kaepernick isn't playing is because he's running a highly successful grift that resembles a WWE bit more than anything the XFL could dial up, one that has him playing heel for the worst people in the country and face for the most gullible people in the country, and if you want to make money without really doing anything, that's a winning combination. (The opposite also works.)

Sir, this is a Waffle House.

I can't say whether or not that's the demographic they need, but McMahon pretty much said from day 0 that rule 1 of the XFL is no protesting, so that should settle any argument about the league's target audience.

That would completely defeat the main purpose of the XFL as a feeder league for the NFL.

Last 5 minutes of Dallas-LA was pretty good.

I watched the first game at a bar with my Bride, now home watching the 2nd game. Have no interest in other sports/games/tv. I can watch football all anytime.

Loving the XFL so far!

Vince did it right this time. This weekend's games have been pretty good, PJ Walker is the real deal.

Kick Offs are way better. I love seeing the return team 5 yards away from the kick off team...makes it more epic.

No kicking PATs is awesome, and LA made a 3-pt conversion this afternoon!!

We’re enjoying it.

I think they’ve found a sweet spot. There is a ton of college talent that doesn’t quite make the NFL but is still extremely talented and fun to watch.

Maybe we take a flier on Walker?

Veterans are "miserable" and "the worst people in the country"?
