I miss those days.

Some days I do, others I don't.. but this recent bout of cold, drizzly weather could go for taking the kids for a few appt's, practices or bringing them back and forth from school....

OTOH if I want to do something or am doing something it is my wife's and I schedule and no need to share it with munchkins...

Anyone in this forum that had that kind of money and then had their longtime spouse die would do the exact same thing that Bob is doing.

I don't necessarily agree that anyone would do exactly that (everyone grieves in different ways, and has different priorities at different times in their lives). What I do agree with though, is that if that is what it takes for someone older to "stay young" and not slip into a loneliness sparked depression, I say go for it. So many elderly people die within a year of their spouse dying, simply because it's HARD to start over and figure out what to do now. Bob has the means to correct that imbalance in his life. All the power to him (so long as he doesn't hurt anybody).

If my wife passed away and I was past 70, I just wouldn't want to have another really serious relationship with a woman. My wife is the mother of my children and her presence can never be replaced. I would just go with casual flings at that point...I would feel really uncomfortable for both myself and my kids if I were to remarry. Just because I would embrace the lifestyle or say I would do what Kraft is doing in a similar situation, doesn't mean I want to become a widow.

Anthony Quinn was having kids at 81 with his 3rd wife. Some men are more virile than others, but yea, you'll never get most women to understand how many men feel in their later years. It is what it is.

It seems like a multiple "user" situation (them for the $$; him for the fun [or maybe both for the fun in this case]), so I guess it's okay. I still think Kraft is a foolish, dirty old man, but I am a middle-aged gal. I find it sad that a lot of guys on here professes that if they had Kraft's money and lost their spouse they'd do the exact same thing. It makes it sound like you don't value your wives very much, or women in general and just see them as trophies to have a good time with.

Agreed. Losing your spouse doesn't preclude the need for something more than a superficial primary relationship.

"Pounce" is the problem here. Be interested? Be flattered? Want to pursue a friendship or even something more? Certainly, but I'm not into pouncing, but that is a good word for what Kraft is doing.

Look at the post above yours. And if the woman is wealthy, it has a very good chance of happening. There are male gold diggers just like there are female gold diggers. The MAIN difference is that the female billionaire in this hypothetical scenario would require a bit more empathy/understanding/interest in her/whatever from whatever young man is pursuing her. Aside from that, the instincts are the exact same. Widows of all genders crave company. People of all ages and genders will look at a good-looking young man/woman and feel physical attraction. Kraft is simply doing what any hot blooded man, and this includes you, would do in the exact same situation.
