This means absolutely nothing. Guaranteed money and contract structure are conveniently missing.

He can't have it both ways. We don't have the cap space to pay him $30M and spend on weapons.Just said on nfl network that we are prepared to offer Brady 30 mill per year but Brady wants assurance that we’ll get him weapons.

Hopefully but not if the $30M number is correct. He's not a $30M QB now anyway, regardless of how badly it would crush our cap space which overthecap.com has at $45M with a ton of FA.Thats what I’m saying he’ll go for less to get weapons he knows this why would he all of a sudden wanna get paid so much. Why not 2-3 years ago why now he’s leveraging for weapons which he deserves.
I think they could easily structure it so that they will, especially if/when the NFLPA approves the 17 game season (which I think will happen eventually even if the initial vote fails). He can't have it both ways. We don't have the cap space to pay him $30M and spend on weapons.
Is the alternative here to build around Stidham and give him experience? Because bringing back Brady and searching for the next franchise QB are not mutually exclusive. Is the implication that with a worse record comes better draft position?
I think people would be super bummed if Brady sets/extends a bunch of new all-time records on another NFL team and aren't appreciating the rarity of this opportunity. And I've just yet to see a better alternative if the goal is to win now. Which questionable quarterback (example, Rivers, Dalton, Tannehill, Mariota) isn't going to get paid over $20M? I'm sure the team will be shooting for a new long-term answer regardless of what happens with Brady.
The bigger concern I have is why the Patriots make the most sense to Brady, given that he isn't doing them any favors since they wouldn't extend him last summer.
Disagree with both 1 & 3. Allen & Darnold are excellent young QBs. Both have high ceilings. Will they be as good as two Hall of Fame legends ? How many 1st round QB picks in the last 20 years are in the Hall of Fame discussions. BUT, they both are trending towards being franchise QBs. Those teams are trying to build around THOSE guys.If Brady is gone just remember these scary thoughts
The Buffalo Bill's are still searching for Jim Kelly's replacement.
The Miami Dolphins are still searching for Dan Marino's replacement.
The NY Jets are still searching for Joe Namath's replacement.
Yikes...

Not buying Allen as a QB that is even so so, let alone good. Not convinced about Darnold either. But he might be someone you can develop.Disagree with both 1 & 3. There’s no reason why the Pats can’t do the same thing. Especially with the greatest coach of all time. I’d prefer to have Brady back. But age is catching up with him.

What's that place in Western Mass? Brimfield? If Kraft did sell antiques out of the back of a Pontiac he'd probably make a huge profit. That's why I was tempted to invest in Draft Kings when I heard that he had invested 400K. My mistake that I didn't.

And this is based on what ? I believe Josh Allen is 22 and so is Darnold. Both have been promising, are you saying they will only regress ? I’ll take that bet. Don’t let your hatred blind you. I hate both teams as well, but those two guys are gonna be good. Darnold had even worse weapons and offensive line than the Pats. Yet the Jets won 7 games despite Darnold being out 4 games, lost all 4, meaning they went 7-5 with Darnold, despite having awful weapons.I will be shocked if Allen is a starter anywhere in 2021, and the only question with Darnold is if another organization could reboot and improve him in a few years. Allen sucks despite great coaching. Darnold is decent despite terrible coaching. Neither will ever be anywhere near elite.
Key word is YOUNG. Both are 22. You guys seem to assume they can’t get better. Both had weak weapons on offense, and not the greatest OLines. That’s why 90% of the mock drafts have both teams taking WRs in the 1st round.Must not take much to please you if your listing both Allen and Darnold as excellent young QBs with their current body of work.

Allen got the Bills to the playoffs, and their weapons are pretty weak as well (on offense).

Not all QBs can be great immediately. Hell you guys were all over Lamar Jackson saying he sucks after he was drafted. All he did was win the MVP in his 2nd season.
Both QBs have more TDs than INTs in their careers, after throwing more INTs than TDs in their rookie seasons. That’s a good improvement in year 2. I’d be thrilled to have EITHER of them learning behind Tom Brady.
