How sad is the Chiefs franchise

I’m betting that it’s pretty happy and festive in KC right now. Good for them.

Reid still has one more game to blow the season......don’t worry, he will

Yeah, his dad told him if those millions aren't enough he'd give him more.

If my math is right, Lamar Hunt founded the Dallas Texans (later Chiefs) and the AFL at ~27 years old.

Not everyone can win 6 SBs.

Unfortunately, one team will have the chance to do it next week, and it's not the Chiefs. Therefore, go Chiefs.

The Chiefs are harmless. Having only 2 SBs would be adorable. It's the best outcome in this situation.
As a fan, I don’t feel like I’m in a competition for most team SB’s. But I am a fan of Brady leading us to 6. So 49ers all the way.

I do not want to hear false Native American chanting all off season in my head

Sports is just a segment of life. Unless, of course you are a homer. Then sports is everything.
One can be a homer and not believe sports is everything.

I think it’s actually worse to to think of oneself as “a fan of the sport of football” and mistakenly believe one is somehow “above” the homer

To be a Patriots fan, one is supposed to be FANatical about them

Of course not they're a bunch of angry inbreeders who have never had so much success in their lives as witnessing their team make the super bowl. They're garbage people for the most part

Recently, Yahoo Sports listed KC fans amongst the worst in the NFL in consecutive years.

During one game a few years ago, they beat one of their own to death in the parking lot. A Father of 2 who was too drunk and tried getting into a car that looked just like the one that he arrived in. There is always trouble out at Arrowhead and I wont be shocked to hear about Titans fans being abused yesterday.

And, KC fans are worse when they are winning like back in the Marty Schiott years.

Too bad Jimmy Baby is going to choke in 2 weeks.

They have a great young qb with a very bright future. Not so sad anymore.
Until they get their QB off his rookie deal and they have to deal with the inevitable cap issues... Let's see them keep it up then...

I'm sure that's what they said about the Pats Nation 20+ years ago. And with Brady most likely gone, who knows, it may be another 50 years without a SB for us...

Yeah but he's the fastest man on an NFL field.
I guess it comes down to where the line is drawn. The Patriots sure could have used Aaron Hernandez this year (if he was alive and not in jail). Rae Carruth (WR ) is available after serving 20 years for murder. There are a slew of defensive linemen available who have beaten up females. So what if Hill physically abused a child. He is the fastest man in the NFL. He may perform at a high level before he makes horrific headlines. I'm pretty satisfied with the Patriot's choice of athletes. I do not want a Hill or a Brown on my team based purely on athleticism. I included a list of arrests of NFL players.

This thread is terrible. Mahomes is a great QB. Reid is good enough to win games.

They are clearly AFCs present and future for likely next five years. Not saying they win 5 sbs, but Mahomes retiring a 2-3 time SB Champion wouldn't shock me. However he needs to win this one before thinking 2.

Mahomes is imo, the present AND future.
Brady will forever be the present and the future

As was mentioned before. The salary cap and draft structure makes it incredibly difficult to sustain a winning team in the nfl. The Chiefs have their qb, generally the highest paid player on a rookie contract. They also have drafted highly for a long time. While Mahomes is a great qb, he has been injured a number of times already and missed games. Only one team has sustained greatness over a long period in the modern NFL and that is the Patriots. I will be surprised if it is ever done again.

What did I say? I am not making this stuff up. See below.

Corey Dillon.
THE NFL: Bengals' Dillon arrested on domestic charges

Assault on wife. Domestic charges in 2000, 3 years before joining Pats.

Hero of Pats 2004 campaign and potential Pats HoF candidate and general fan favourite.

Albert Haynesworth

Pats Trade for Haynesworth (merged)

General schoolgirl giddiness about Pats trading for Albert Haynesworth on this very forum. Somehow if you can get through all the "OMG OMG OMG" spam on that thread.

This man took off Gurode's helmet while he was lying on the field and twice stomped on his head (connecting on the second attempt) narrowly missing his eye and causing 30 stitches on the head. A-grade scumbag.

Albert Haynesworth's Antics Are a Never-Ending Distraction
For every Dillion or Haynesworth you come up with by example there's an AB or Hernandez the Pats have jettisoned -- the circumstances/transgressions aren't identical for every player. Dillon was a model citizen as a Patriot, Haynesworth likewise but he didn't last a season. Public awareness around criminal conduct by pro athletes is heightened these days, especially involving cases of domestic abuse. (Dillon's was 20 years ago; the Haynesworth stomping incident, which occurred ON THE FIELD, was 14 years ago.) But rest assured Tyreek Hill never will be a Patriot.

I just want Hill to break his arm so he knows what it feels like. He's the only player in my life that I wished an injury, but it is specific. Maybe that makes be a bad person, I don't care.

God this thread is embarrassing. There’s only two teams left and they are one of them. Anyone who thinks they are sad looks like losers

This board has always had a problem giving credit to an opposing player, coach or franchise for being superior to said player or the NEP.

Boo on this thread. The Chiefs beat everybody they had to in stunning fashion. The other 50 Chiefs teams that didn't are irrelevant. And this type of blather makes PatsFans (the people, the site) look like whiny and sore losers. Especially given the past 20 years of how this Patriots team has performed.

EDIT: I guess I didn't need to post this since 99% of the other posts say something similar.
