In his press conference, the Astros owner stated that he "was lied to..."
Cheating while under the owner's employ got them suspended; lying to the owner's face got them fired...in its way similar to the Kareem Hunt incident in KC: his love tap to the drunk hoe outside his hotel room got him suspended; his lying to the owner's face by claiming that nothing at all happened got him released.
During MLBN's all-day coverage of the situation, one of the reporters mentioned that not handing out discipline any of the Astros players had more to do with the investigation not wanting to slide down the slippery slope of He said/He said for each & every player on the roster, and less to do with allowing the guilty ones to walk away scot-free...I smell what he's cooking, though as somebody who was specifically mentioned during the investigation, Carlos Beltran should still at the very least be fired by the Mets if their owner has a similar backbone to Houston's.
Nobody should really be surprised by this one...Tony the Lawyer is the godfather of the Steroid Error so it's logical that he would try any means necessary to cheat his way to more wins.
Let's face it, Little Billy has really lousy taste in friends.
