It's tricky because Carroll has at least proven more than Andy Reid, who not only has the second most secure HC job in the NFL but also is considered (for some reason) a "coaching legend". He keeps his team competitive year after year and that's enough to keep Reid employed. Will Seattle hold the same standards?

Speaks volumes about what a top 5 HC in Caroll thinks of Aaron Rodgers. Didn't think he was enough of a threat to close out the game. Still, they should have gone for it. This Seattle defense is terrible compared to years past.

Different take : I liked it. On two occasions, GB made clutch 3rd & long-ish to seal the game. But SEA gave itself a shot and just couldn’t beat a QB who made great plays with the game on the line. Was the right call, IMO. Just didn’t work out.

Have you seen Seattle’s secondary?

Worst aspect of their team. Why would you rely on them to stop Rodgers?

I was ok with it. They had the timeouts and their D was playing very well in the 2nd half. 4th and 11 isn’t a very high % conversion.

Their front seven was playing well.

Their secondary was getting cooked.

11 yards is tough to gain in 2019 football?

Did you watch KC yesterday? I’m not sure they had many plays shorter than 11 yards in the second half!

Yeah um, the Seattle offense is not in the same tier as KC'S. Like not even close. Not saying they shouldve punted, but thats not a good comparision.

The first things i thought of were the pats vs green bay game in 2014 and and the dez no catch game from that same year.

in both of those scenarios the visiting teams failed to convert a crucial 4th down late and ultimately never got the ball back as rodgers ran out the clock.

given that i knew green bay would most likely do the same thing in this game, i thought it was absolutely insane to punt the ball.

If rodgers gets the ball back with a lead in that scenario, you arent getting another shot regardless so why WILLINGLY give it back to him with a punt? Especially when your secondary is the weak point of the whole team.

terrible decision to not at least try to extend the drive when the chances of not seeing the ball again are high either way

No they weren’t. The 2 Packers drives prior were 1 series and 2 series drives. The Seattle D was holding and they had 3 timeouts.

I would definitely look for an O-Line replacement. That unit has been terrible, and Wilson is my 2nd favorite behind Brady in the NFL. If we got to pick who we'd want, it'd be a toss up between him and Mahomes but honestly, Wilson has done it longer and with not as an all-star receiver cast. He elevates those around him it seems.

The Seahawks took a gamble in letting Richard Sherman go. That gamble has bitten them in the ass and has helped San Fran take over that division

I won't pretend to know so I'm seriously asking........do we think they let him go because they thought he was over the hill, or was it to save money for other players?

I only wonder because sometimes people forget that players like Chandler Jones get 'let go' to sign other valuable players (Hightower, McCourty, etc).

Like I said, I don't know the circumstances in which Sherman left.

Yah, they almost did make out like bandits didn't they. That pass and catch were spot on. If they weren't the Pack would have had two incompletions and been punting.

Given the time on the clock, the number of timeouts, the field position, and distance to go, it was absolutely the right call. Any decision can be nitpicked after his players don't execute.
