AFCCG Discussion: Titans at Chiefs

I would watch out for the refs in this game...the league is salivating at a possible KC vs. SF/GB Super Bowl...

Colts showed the blueprint to beat the Chiefs earlier in the season and the Titans are exactly the team that can follow that blueprint.

If the Titans can put more points against Chiefs they go Superbowl:)

I believe Mahomes and Garoppolo will be the two best QBs of the 2020s, so that would be a great matchup. This doesn’t include QBs we haven’t seen yet, like Trevor Lawrence, etc. From the guys playing now, I think they have the brightest futures.

I think Stidham will out do JG.

Hill is one good hit away from being done for the season. If Titans play as physical as they did against the ravens and tight man coverage like against us, I say they have a good shot to keep Mahommey off the field

If KC wins, they are likely SB winners. I've thought it out. And Mahomes is just unstoppable. Jimmy G isn't on that level. Jmo.

I guess no point arguing in a lot of detail about this, but I like San Francisco over Kansas City in a fairly easy win. I do like Kansas City over Green Bay but doubt that will happen. San Francisco has been the best team and most balanced team in football all season. Plus Shanahan over Reid is a total mismatch.

Mahomes today really shined. Maybe I'm too prisoner of the moment.

Sure. And he’s the better QB in any matchup, and KC passing game is is best in any matchup. But San Francisco is the better overall team.

If they could demolish the Ravens, they can beat anybody.

I disagree. The Titans defense just played two abysmal passing offenses in NE and BAL (BAL after the run gimmick collapsed). KC is going to be as different as it gets...we’ll see how stifling that defense is against an elite offense and elite passing game. I think KC will roll them, personally, unless their secondary is the real deal. I just can’t tell because they just beat the three headed Sanu-Harry-LaCosse Patriots offense and the meltdown-we-saw-coming Ravens offense.

Mahomes, Kelce and Hill will have a field day... This one won't be close...KC by 2 scores

Who knows the Titans beat the Chiefs 35-32 in Week 10.

Sure. I’m not saying by any means they cannot beat the Chiefs. But it’s hard to find a bigger contrast in passing offenses than NE/BAL empty backfield and then going against Kansas City.

Titans are the better all around team, and the tougher team. KC disappears for long stretches in these games, and you can't do that against Tenn or they'll eat your lunch.

I expected the early lines to have both home teams heavily favored. SF by better than a TD and KC by close to double digits but the open has SF -6.5 and KC -7.5, a bit lower than expected. TBH I was planning on taking both dogs against what I thought they'd be but the numbers aren't favorable... at least not yet.

I can never forgive the Titans for ditching the Houston Oilers uniforms, aka the greatest uniforms in sports history. This is a factor in how much I want them to win.

Defenses still win championships, If you look at the last 20-25 years most the high powered offenses did not win the SB.
98 Vikings, 01 Rams, 04 Colts, 07 Patriots , 18 Chiefs ( I am sure I am missing some).
Even if the chiefs make the SB, the 49ers have the much better defense which I feel will prevail in the end !

looking at the rankings over the years it’s usually the most complete teams that win SBs, O and D. This latest run by the pats shows that , excellent O averaging 30 points a game over the decade in the POs and very good D.

Lopsided teams don’t do so well, look at this years Pats. 2001 ravens and 2015 broncos are really exceptions and not the norm.
