And as I said two posts earlier, so what? He would’ve returned from that suspension weeks ago.

Yeah that investigation sure has been completed.

The worst season in recent memory. I expected them to win but the offense had no life in it, oh well. It's a new decade and its time to get with the time. This team is gonna need some major retooling.

Yeah, there's a world of difference between the NFL scaring teams away from signing a player and the NFL shelving a player who can then use the NFLPA to take you to court.

So you're premise is the league wouldn't have suspended Brown as long as he was a patriot? Because they love helping them so much. I think the word stupid defines your theory
Uh no, not at all. Try to follow along here...

Even if he’s suspended, he’s not going to get suspended for an entire season, so he’s back playing weeks and weeks ago.

Again, you guys can twist the pretzel any way you’d like, but the Pats are home getting rest right now preparing for a game next week if Brown was on the team.

I hope they draft a tight end and they look at another wideout. Doesn’t have to be AJ Green. I like what i saw from
Perriman with the bucs. He was starting to put it together.

I couldn't see the league placing Brown on the exempt list if he weren't released to begin with. That would be an absurd precedent given the circumstances. The league seemingly issued a soft threat to GMs behind the scenes that they'll put him on the exempt list if he's signed.

What is absurd about that? They spent millions of dollars to make fake science on how air reacts in cold weather, and you think that's absurd?

Oh so the investigation has been completed? The saints sure jumped to sign him. Along with ant team that needed a receiver

Assuming TB does not re-sign with Patriots. Which team would he go to?

Miami? Carolina? LA Chargers?

Unfortunately, JimmyG is Niners QB, otherwise it would be a story-book ending if Brady plays for the Niners ...

Pat's don't have a real number 1 receiver.

With Gronk you didn't need it as much.

Are you being dumb?

What reason did they have to complete the investigation? He wasn’t signed and the league had all the leverage in the world to freeze him out for the entire season, which they did to perfection.

The guy was literally hijacking their 100th season.

Are you seriously telling me the NFL league offices put forth a genui ne and true effort into his “investigation”? Lmfaoooo

Not as much as you think. Sure, the TE position needs big-time addressing but the O-Line with the return of Andrews and the Europeans we drafted last year should solidify that area. The D doesn't need much retooling other than the run D. And, of course, they need weapons on O but they don't know how to draft and develop those players, apparently.

Not only that, but there's the trickle down effect. With Brown and Thomas on the team, you can rest Edelman and get him healthier. With Brown and Thomas on the team, you don't need to trade for Sanu. Etc...

Gronk and Dwayne Allen made all the difference. Put those two healthy TEs in this team and they woould have made a huge difference in the running game and short yardage situations and could well have replicated last years run.

It's a shame that the inept offseason offense has wasted the efforts of a fantastic defence. For all their issues today, they gave up only 14 points and battled their way back and even gave the offense a short field. The Patriots were not far off from winning this game and the Titan's goal line stand proved pivotal.

Many questions on both sides of the ball now with many senior players possibly leaving and limited capspace. Maybe we see a vastly different team next year.

So if the Pat's had kept him, you're saying they would have sped the investigation along and suspended him just in time to get back for the playoffs. Where did you get this amazing insider knowledge?

Uh yeah because Brown has the NFLPA at his disposal. He wasn’t an employee, so what use does a union have to back a non-employee who has every right to sign?

You’re now defending the NFL and Goodell on their transparency in their “investigations”...I’ve seen it all.

Lmao give it a rest.

Chargers is a perfect fit. Great young TE, outside weapons and a better James White in Ekeler as well as Gordon.

I actually think the defense needs a ton of work. Hightower, McCourty twins, Harmon are all getting long in the tooth. This team is 2-3 years away from contending again assuming we draft well.

Remember, the dynasty Part 2 only happened in 2014-2018 because we nailed the 2010 and 2012 drafts. It takes time.

They didn't have the offensive talent to do it. Once teams figured out:

  • Dorsett takes time to get open, because he wins downfield, not at the line
  • Edelman is banged up and can't make as many plays right now
  • The other WRs can't get open on the outside
  • There's not a TE1, or blocking TE, on the roster
  • The running game is a shell of itself without Develin

everything became a tractor pull.
None of this is easily fixed at this point. Edelman is a year older next year and beat to hell. Dorsett and Sanu are expendable, but someone has to play the position. Few TEs are great receivers AND great blockers. If you aren’t spending $25 million at QB, you have more money, but free agents are not looking to play with Stidham. And I think there will be other holes as well (Hightower?).

Go look at harry and sanu’s last 5 games and tell me what brady can do especially when his top target is getting doubled team. These guys can’t get separation. Never had a number 2 wideout to compliment Edelman.
But people on here told us once Harry and Wynn came back, the offense would be able to mount drives and score points...Harry is Donald Hayes part Deux
