thats exactly what they were chanting.

a couple idiots in my section kept getting the chant going again on our side every time it started to die down.

Just boston fans rooting for the Sox b/c the pats already had the game won, that's all.

Brady was JUST on WEEI and when asked about the chant he said he heard it and he thought it was "great" .... and not a sarcastic way, he was laughing and seemed like he was perfectly fien with it.

Seriously, I can't believe some of you guys get your panties in a bunch over this, Brady sure doesn't.

No kidding. He's probably grateful that he plays in a place where people are passionate about sports. Larry Izzo even did the "Yankees Suck" chant at the first SB parade. People will be saying Lets Go Red Sox at some point this Sunday also. BFD.

Wait, you're using Izzo's stupid chant as evidence that people SHOULD be chanting this stuff?

Personally I find chanting for a team that isn't playing at the venue to be stupid.

We were dominating a rival, on their own field, sending them to 0-7 and putting their beloved 1972 season in at least mild jeopardy. I could think of a few chants that would have been a much better use of the situation.

Should....no. But it's just how it is in this town. People are passionate about the Sox and the Pats right now. Some of you guys cry constantly and can't understand that people actually like teams in addition to the Patriots. The Red Sox are going to the World Series. They are the sports story right now in this town. Deal with it.

I'm not sure what I wrote could be constituted as "crying" or something I need to "deal with".

The point I made is that if you're going to have people take you serious as a fanbase (talking Patriots now), we should have taken the opportunity of taking over two home fields with two convincing wins and had something better than "Let's go Red Sox" to say.

The problem with this is there should be some delineation so both teams can receive due recognition. It's not the Redriots or the Patrisox. It's the Red Sox and it's the Patriots. Some people could care less about one and feel very passionate about the other. Some like both, some love both. But my guess is that most of the yahoos populating Fenway don't understand or care at all about football. My feeling is that it's not necessary to shove the Patriots aside just because the baseball team is in the playoffs, especially considering the historic season the Pats have put together so far. To me, the Patriots are top dog and never second fiddle to baseball, no matter how well the Red Sox are doing. I'd take a Patriots preseason win over a Sox World Series championship any day of the week, that's how irrelevant baseball is to me.

It's fine for you and others to love baseball, just do it on your own time, in your own space, at your own ball park, and things will be fine.

Yeah, you know, where the actual Red Sox can hear you.

BFD. I love the Pats, Sox, Bruins and Celts in that order. Cheer whatever you want. It's a great time to be a Boston/NE sports fan.

Definitely much more clever than "No Champagne" in Miami or "You're not ready" or "Get-cha Pop-Corn" in Dallas.

This is exactly why you are not a typical Boston sports fan. In Boston, people cheer on the Pats in playoff times at B's and C's games. Just like they do at Pats games for the Sox. Once you can accept that most of us are fans of all of the Boston teams, you'll be less likely to have a heart attack everytime you hear the words "Red Sox".

OK, let's get this straight: according to you, people cheer for the Patriots at Bruins and Celtics games, people cheer for baseball at Patriots games ... But, why don't they cheer and chant for the Patriots at baseball games? Does this have something to do with beer?

P.S. I do hope it's OK I'm not what you term a "typical" Boston sports fan. Unlike most of the horde I see no great accomplishment in the No. 2 payroll team taking a full seven-game series to beat the No. 23 payroll team. If Boston wins another World Series this year, Bank of America deserves equal credit.

Simple. Because the Patriots aren't in the playoffs during baseball season.

OK, you win. Here is my chant for baseball at Gillette this coming Sunday:

:wha:

I think you have a startlingly bad grasp of the Boston areas sportsfan.

Didn't the Patriots Pro Shop sell a shirt after the 2004 World Series that had the Red Sox and Pats championships on it?

Go Sox!

Yea, i got that shirt. It says city of champions on it. The only beef I had was that they only sold long sleeved ones.
