"Targeting lack of weapons for Tom Brady’s decline growing tiresome" (?)

Did you really put Brandon Lloyd and Brandon Lafell in the same breath with Wes Welker? Any remote semblance of argument you may have made pretty much went up in smoke with that sentence.

You're right, my mistake. Lloyd actually had two 1k yard seasons before the Pats, so to lump him with Welker was a mistake.

But seriously, what did Welker do without Brady? That's exactly my point. Brady used to turn 500-600 yard receivers into pro bowlers. Don't pretend Welker was Moss before coming here. He's the poster child of a receiver who greatly improved his game because of Brady.

Because the QB's throwing to Wes were TRASH. Joey Harrington? C'mon. And I'm pretty sure those offenses werent using Welkers skill set correctly. He also didnt really develop into a good reciever until 2006, 1 year before the Pats got him. By the time he got to Denver he was slowing down and he didnt need to be the primary reciever for peyton with how stacked his offense was in 2013.

This disproves my statement, how?

Do QBs make the receiver or vice versa? Back in his prime, Brady got the most of his receivers. Now that people don't want to admit Brady is in decline, suddenly the receivers are the ones to blame?

I'm NOT saying this is an amazing WR crew
It's not. However, people are acting like Brady is throwing to high schoolers out there.

Go look up sanu’s last 5 games along with harry or even further. These guys are getting the majority of the snaps now and tell me that wr is not a problem.

If you watched Welker prior to coming here it wasn't shocking at all. He was born for that role. Brady maximized him but Welker was a baller long before coming to NE. Most just don't watch college/other pro teams so it came as a big surprise.

What a garbage article. He didn't even make an argument in favor of the WRs. He just contrasted Harry vs AJ Brown, and Sanu vs Sanders.

Dude went undrafted.

I get that he had talent. It's why Belichick traded for him. However, it took Brady to expose that talent. It's literally the point that I was making. Great QBs make receivers better. If we still had 2007 Brady, there is a good chance Gordon and Edelman would be over 1k each with Sanu an amazing third option.

I'm not sure why people are surprised a 42 year old QB is declining in ability. I'm younger than he is (by a year) and couldn't imagine playing against little leaguers lol.

Put jimmy G under center and let me know what he does with this unit. Before i say brady’s done can we see him wit some above average talent and maybe a number 1 or two receiver to go with a healthy edelman.

Welker was incredible WR here....incredible.....Edelman to me is legendary....made some of the toughest most insane catches and is the CLUTCHEST (is that a word) Mofo in Pats history....Edelman doesn’t get enough credit sometimes around the league
Edelman was lucky enough to be on Patriot squads that didn't ruin his post season performances.

What are you on about? I'm calling out your statement about Wes Welker being mediocre and Brady somehow making him. If he played with any decent QB in his prime and not Joey Harrington he wouldve put up similar stats that he did with Tom.

I believe Brady is still an elite qb.

This year he was the victim of bad o line play, 1 nfl caliber wide receiver on the roster, who happened to be injured most of the year, tight ends on the roster that make jag’s look like all pros and running backs that got killed behind an o line that was either injured or filled with jags most of the year.

this is on bb the GM, not Brady. And at the end of the day, they still went 12 and 4. Without Brady, we are battling Washington for the second pick in the draft.

You're missing the big picture bc you didn't watch Wes in college or before NE. Welker had a lot of talent, was limited but perfect for that role. Anyone around, that watched him knew he was a player.

The fact that he went undrafted means nothing. I know why you brought it up but it means nothing pertaining to Wes. Your second point about Brady exposing his talent means what exactly? Wes was useless without the GOAT?

That's just a lousy argument with all due respect.

Wes needed a good QB & a creative coach. That's it. The league blew it in regards to Wes which is nothing new. Literally happens every year.

Sanu was a bust. Waste of 2nd rounder.

That’s the point that shows Brady’s decline. He used to work his tail off and make everyone around him better. Then he thought he had all the answers to the test and quit working so hard and didn’t develop chemistry with any of the new guys, and didn’t make this year’s receiver corps better for playing with him.

Please never talk about football again. This is generic junk you here from drunks at a bar. Harry was out most of the year. Brady developed chemistry with Meyers and he just simply was one of those guys who couldn't shine when in real game time situations. Edelman has been hurt and double teamed. Dorsett is what he is.

The problem does not lay with Brady here whatsoever. This was a garbage receiver corps. Brady gave them opportunities to make plays. They pissed it away

Lol 2007 Brady would have had just about as bad of time.

Bingo. That answers to the test thing was ridiculous then and it is now. He threw so many non competitive balls this season it wasn’t even funny. Missing wide open guys because he never looked that way. He was vintage TB at times with equally dismal performances at others. He was the definition of average so that say something. Lesser QBs with lesser or equal weapons performed better than he did.

I disagree because he worked out with Harris in the off season, invited AB to stay at his home, pampered Gordon. Also at 42 years old its perfectly acceptable for him to want people who are ready to go, his body won't give him the luxury he used to have.
