On October 28th I posted that the Patriots were five players away from tying the all time record for most individual players to score a touchdown in the regular season (21).
(I would have done this as a reply to that thread but it's currently locked)
Most of us in the thread expected the Pats to get 5 more players, but they fell just one short
Since the midseason there were only four players to score TDs that did not already. They were Mohammed Sanu, N'Keal Harry, Matt LaCosse, and Elandon Roberts.
The PRIMARY CULPRIT for falling just short could be JAKOBI MEYERS. In the Chiefs game (following the Harry should be TD) he had a prime opportunity to catch a TD pass that he let slip away....in fact, I think it was momentarily ruled a TD until the officials corrected each other.
The SECONDARY CULPRIT could be none other than BEN WATSON. As a tight end in a positional group starved for talent, you'd think he'd have some RED ZONE looks. He did get into the end zone once on long play, but it was nullified by an Edelman OPI.
PS.........I do NOT know what the record is for most players to score a point in a season. Seeing as the Pats were one short of the TD record, there's a good chance they would have the overall scorers record since they had four different kickers record at least one point.
