Some talk in a couple of the threads out there got me thinking how hard I used to take the losses. I used to be in a bad mood for a while after the Patriots blew a regular season game and big games or post season games I would be miserable for a couple days. I am still as big a fan as I ever was, I listen to Patriots related podcasts all year long, watch every game (and rewatch every game at least once), and follow all the personnel moves closely but over the last couple years the losses don't sting as much as they used to. Maybe it's all the recent Super Bowl wins or maybe it's the fact that I have a lot more going on in my life now. In the past 2 and a half years I have gotten married, bought a house, and have a kid on the way. I guess it's all about perspective as I get older and realize in the end of the day life goes on and as long as my family and close friends are happy and healthy thats all that really matters.

This game sucked and this season has been as frustrating as a 12-4 season can be but all in all we have it better than all other 31 fanbases. Just curious based on some of the conversation in the other threads about reactions to this game.

I get very aggravated. But life trumps the games, in the end. Once you see your child go through health issues, your view of sports changes.

Secondly : the 2014-2016-2018 SBs have gone a long way in appeasing the “season to season”.

It's been heaven the past two decades with the last several conference appearances awesome... What stinks is winter and not having much to look forward to

This is a deeply flawed team. It seemed like bad news on the first 3 and out. I accept they aren't Super Bowl worthy, so it makes it easy to deal with.

It sucks but at the end of the day, if they are good enough to be champions they'll overcome the disadvantage of #3 vs #2. If they aren't they will fall short as they most likely would have with the bye. Right now there are 20 fanbases who have nothing to look forward to next week, we are still alive and will be until the next loss. Enjoy the ride

Pisses me off until the next morning, then I get up and go to work and realize I still have to pay my bills.

That first Sunday in February is still rough. Especially when my wife gets that grinch smile when she realizes that there is 7 months worth of Sundays she gets to clog up with whatever crap she can come up with.

Pisses me off a lot. I’m still pissed now. And will be all week even though it’s just a game

The one off loss, even against a team they "should" beat, with something on the line, is annoying, but not life shattering.

This one (and the season more broadly) has left a sting because I think the end of the road for TB12 is, at least, within sight.

....He's my favorite turd.

I still take the losses really hard as they're happening but tend to get over them a bit quicker than I did 10 or so years ago.

I just stay less engaged during the offseason and during the week leading up to games ... I'll browse the forum but mostly stay detached until game-time, get completely invested during the game, and then check out again around Tuesday'ish.

Think staying less involved between games/season helps me detach in a healthy way after a bad game.

If the outcome of Patriots games (or any sports competition) is where you find your identity and source of purpose, you're going to end up upset and miserable far too often and that's not a healthy way to live.

After losing to the Giants and losing the perfect season, no loss has ever really come close to that. I come on here and read and turn off sports radio and TV after a loss. I'm already over today's loss and don't have high hopes for next week. But if we win, I'll enjoy the ride until it ends.

This is the first year I’m not letting it bother me as much.

We’ve won six, any more would simply be icing on an already well decorated cake.

I just turn it all off and do something else not related to football.

The bottle seems to help

It used to make me feel depressed, but the more super bowl wins we get, the losses don't nearly sting as much as they used to...

Are you asking for a friend?

I could handle the Baltimore loss. Was a hard fought game where they just came up short. These stupid losses, in important games, against teams they have no business losing to, sting a lot.

This loss affected me because I feel it affirms what I felt in the 2nd half of the season. This team can’t beat good teams. The 1st half of the season when they were blowing out shyte teams was a mirage. That Boogeymen defense was a mirage.

Once they got on the field against good teams, it was no competition, they aren’t a championship caliber team. To lose the most important game of the regular season against a supposedly vastly inferior team, when they knew what was on the line, showed me who the REAL 2019 Patriots were. And that hurts.

And it also hurts to see Brady deteriorate to a middle of the road QB. The Brady who was incredibly clutch in the miraculous comeback in SB 51, is very far in the rear view mirror. That pick 6 was very Peyton-esque (Peyton’s last year). But even then, I can’t completely blame him for the loss, he gave them the lead with 4 minutes left, and honestly I knew the defense wasn’t going to stop the Dolphins. I knew they wouldn’t come up with a clutch sack, or int, or fumble recovery. They couldn’t stop a high school team today, very embarrassing loss as well.

This is the worst 12-4 team I’ve ever seen (I know, it sounds crazy), but 10 of the wins were against bad teams.

No Dynasty lasts forever. But it hurts to watch it crumble seemingly overnight.

Hardly bothers me because I’m the god damn **** at every other aspect of my life

Every time I get bent out of shape about a loss that is how I rationalize it. "It still isn't as bad as '07".

I have known for a while they are not a SB team this year. The way they have played for the past 2 months has been pretty clear that there is just not enough talent on this team.

But still its the way they lost today. Infuriating and I am still pissed and in a bad mood.

The defense choked as they only had to make one stop and could not do it (after irrationally being labeled as a historically great D earlier in the year). Brady throwing a pick 6 that was just a terrible read and something you expect from a rookie not a 20 year veteran who has seen it all.

BB showing ZERO faith in his offense on the last drive in the first half. I do not care what he said, if he has ANY faith in his offense he lets them air it out and just try to score some points.
Sanu just still not stepping it up like he should.

Basically I am still pissed because it feels like BB has given up on his own team.
