Official Post Game Thread- Dolphins beat the Pats

I just don't really see how this team can do it this year. I'll never count them out but being realistic our defense is great but not at the otherworldly level they looked through the first half of the season. The run game is definitely improving and pass blocking is better but not great. Our WRs are all some combination of hurt or trying to find their groove. Our TE position is invisible. Brady's clearly got a physical problem.

I'm not trying to be negative and in a weird way I'm kind of happy we get a game next week to watch, but realistically I'm just not seeing a championship team here.

That pretty much sums up my feelings. Too bad this defense will get wasted on what looks like one of the worst offenses in the playoffs.

Unless they can find consistent success in the running game they will need turnovers and the ball to bounce their way a lot.

I don't think this team needs a "rebuild" by any means but they need some firepower on offense. Get AJ Green on a one year prove it deal or Trade for Beckham while he's cheap. For the love of god make a move for a TE whether it be in the draft or in free agency. I believe Hunter Henry is a FA at the end of the year or maybe make a run at OJ Howard again. This offense needs some attention and will need it even more-so since I think the defense will take a big step back as I don't see anyway we keep Collins and Van Noy.

AJ Green is still injured after a whole season, Beckham is far from cheap, is hurt (sports hernia) and s diva, OJ Howard has done nothing on a high powered offense. Hunter Henry would be a decent addition though.

1000% correct. If Brady's elbow is so hurt that he can not throw a pass longer than 15 yards, the defense can simply swamp the middle of the field and short routes.

The issue is not that he cant throw it deep but that he can't even throw intermediate passes with his usual accuracy. That is where the entire offense collapses.

If they had started 4-4 and ended 12-4 because of how the schedule was set it would have been the same result but people would talk themselves into the myth of momentum.

Well to be fair wouldn't some people feel better about the team if they finished strong against good competition? They lost to Kansas City and Baltimore because the refs but people may feel better both teams they win today and they won against the Texans earlier in the season.

I see this loss as potentially a good thing. If we had easily won, we would have gone into the bye with false confidence and got our a** kicked in the playoffs. Now we know we suck and we should play accordingly. I expect more screens and trick plays in our arsenal and we need it. The lowly dolphins should be a wake up call to Mcdaniels that our offense isn't cutting it and stop trying to play small ball. Dink and dunk is over this year. Need more chunk plays.

I hear what you’re saying and I’m not trying to be overly negative but holy ****… I’m just very disappointed.

The way they ended that first half screamed to me this is a team with no guts.

They played so conservatively on offense during much of the game, like they figured the D would keep them in it and they would somehow win it.

What I am trying to say is that for the first time ever for me, it felt like a Belichick-lead team was trying to not lose rather than to win. I would’ve taken a fourth and 2 in Indy game any day over this game.

This is a great post. This is absolutely wake-up call for the team. They know they have to play better and they will. Now they have an extra game to figure this out while Kansas City will be on the sidelines getting rusty.

Too many injuries, too few difference makers, especially on offense and TB can no longer consistently carry a team with too many JAGs on his back. Gronk was smart to retire when he did. I thought TB would as well. Next year's schedule is brutal a

He's been excellent.. but it's stretch not a whole season
