If I were commissioner, in light of two previous thefts in fake scandals, I would award the Patriots two extra first rounders in 2020, and a formal league apology.

But that's just me.

And a bunch of Asian hookers for Kraft just to keep him too busy to get involved in team personnel decisions.

A Fine?

F that.

This was not a pre-meditated or accidental activity organized by the FOOTBALL OPERATIONS department. This was activity sanctioned by the MARKETING/MEDIA department which is contractually bound and responsible to promote the respective New England Patriots and NFL products and brands.

If they are fined a single penny it's complete ******** and I view it as just another opportunity for Ginger Jerkoff, the other jealous loser owners and the NFL to create another ridiculous, stupid, attention grabbing, goddamn soap opera.

You remember The Iron Sheikh?

Or any other wrestling bad guy?

That's us.

So there was no time BEFORE they got to the booth or before the kickoff to say “ hey, by the way in case it wasn’t mentioned....don’t film the field”. To lack total situational awareness in this particular area is insane.

This take and those like them just drive me nuts. The ever perfect " did so-n-so cross all the t's and dot all the I's" crowd who seemingly never ever err dismiss intent as quickly and conveniently as they ignore logic.

I envy those loud barkers as the societal cornerstones they are or are becoming. They've never even had to make one U-turn in their lives. Never missed an appointment. Straight A's in school. ****ing perfectly outraged people. No cavities whatsoever.

Ever wonder why Charmin sells single rolls of toilet paper? Sorry to inform you but perfect people use one pleat , if that, after a bowel movement. No stains and no strains. Plop, wipe, zip, done.

Me? I'm a Costco's jumbo 32 roll pack type of guy. I make mistakes daily. I can't imagine how I must infuriate the perfectos. It's easy for me to understand how someone could overlook a few important details. It happens in my world all the time. Hence ECR's.

Anyway in my little imperfect world intent matters. Always. No crimes no fines.

@Ian give this man a winner's ribbon.

Everyone in this thread is panicking about the Goodell quote, when in fact the quote is favorable to the Patriots. He’s answering a question and acknowledging that past conduct is a consideration before quickly redirecting that this is about this actual incident foremost. But this is what happens when these headlines are created to get everyone to panic and misconstrue them.

“Of course, that is a factor,” Goodell said. “But I think the key things are the new information that we have — that information we obviously already had. I think the issue is what information do we have from this incident.

No one will give a blithering sht about these dumb “scandals” within year of TB and BB leaving New England. These dumb talking heads will just point out how every coach and player don’t stack up to the all-time great Patriots and throw is in reverse to suit whatever lame hot take they’re pretending to care about. Probably even have criticism of teams not having a “killer edge” like Belichick and being willing to do whatever it takes. Yes, the media is that dumb. It’s like now when you hear about crap that teams of yesteryear did to gain an edge and smirk.

Jason Whitlock was saying "something has to be done" like these other low IQ bozo talking heads and he actually referenced them taking on Aaron Hernandez as an example as to the depths they'll go for an advantage.

Meanwhile, his own team has featured Jovan Belcher murdering his gf and baby before blowing his brains out.

This is how low the media goes. KC has Hill and Clark actively playing on their team in KC, known wifebeaters that Goodell has protected to help KC, and Whitlock has the balls to claim NE giving Hernandez a new deal in 2012, somehow means they were looking the other way with this hidden troubles as a person off the field?

This is the level of mental illness the media has here.

I blame the sensitivity over the roid era in baseball and all the whiny dorky people out there who maybe grew up as kids with 90s roid era baseball being so sensitive to something somehow being "cheating", especially when it's painted as such so easily now in our society. It's so whiny.

It's gotten to the point to where when common sense shows it's nowhere near cheating or an intent to cheat at all, people still call it as such. It's like a disease, even when common sense shows us the truth. It gets ignored all in the name of making money instead.

Disgusting.

The Pats were framed for Spygate, Deflategate and an attempt here is being made for another framejob. How this is not beyond obvious by now, partially why Goodell was hired in the first place, how many times he's been caught in federal courts being exposed with the framejobs, I have no idea. Everyone in the media takes stupid pills before looking at these situations, and intentionally removes common sense.

I always wondered how many attempted framejobs happen during the year that we never even hear about because it's so pathetic, even the NFL offices can't believe it.

You'd think Cheater Goodell would immediately say, publicly, something the to the effect of "we've seen the tape and this is in no way, shape or form intentional based on everyone we've already spoken to"....

But, nope. Everything has to be an "investigation" or an extended period of time to negotiate back and forth with how they want to possibly slander and cheat NE.

Pretending to be 'incensed' about a controversy they started isn't kill or be killed it's bs politics. If they are really 'incensed' then they were too stupid to know what was going on which is not believable to me.

What's not believable exactly?

What's not believable exactly?
That they are actually 'incensed' because I don't believe that from what we've seen and heard anyone can actually believe this person was there to 'cheat'. Every NFL team is a near billion dollars organization and surely someone there has enough common sense to realize what happened. So I have to think it's just politics to start this thing in their press conference the way they did.

Lmao this is what it’s like to be an Astros fan apparently

It would be hilarious if "justice" is dealt before afccg, Belichick gets suspended and Brady goes 2-0 winning afccg and SB 54.

It would be epic. :D

1. Pats are prohibited from using cameras for rest of season;
2. AB is prohibited from using SM for rest of season;
3. NFL forces NEP to sign AB as punishment.

Bengals are going to replace the stripes with stitches after we're done with them on Sunday.

1. Pats prohibited from using cameras to film hand signals when Cincinnati is their upcoming opponent and playing in an away stadium, for one year, unless they inform the league and Bengals.
2. Footage of the filming is released to the public, but after about twenty seconds it cuts to the Robert Kraft massage parlor video.
3. $15 fine for Kraft, and and all Early Bird * discount savings donated to NFL charities.

They can't be as dumb as they make themselves appear, can they? has to be just to get noticed.

Yes, they are that dumb.

MLB should be thinking of ways to close the ability to steal signs rather than do what all sports leagues do, which is make an example out of one team (when many other teams also do it, or would if they could.) Rulebooks are generally pretty dumb...they were written before advanced technology, and now many of the “please promise you won’t do this...” rules in a multi-billion dollar business are pretty absurd. I’m sure there are plenty of high tech ways for pitchers and catchers to communicate without hand signals that are visible to anyone in centerfield and on every tv camera as well.

can someone explain something to me? i must be missing something obvious.

the people involved in this are independent contractors and have nothing to do with football ops.

what about the scout? he is football ops, no? and he wouldn't have been aware of the rule and said we shouldn't do that? I'm a little confused
