Best Brady Passing Skill

Of course Bradys best qualities IMO are the intangibles, i.e. being a winner.
But in terms of throwing the ball, I think what he does best, and the 'most better' than other QBs, is hit that 15-20 yards pass along the hash marks. Many times this year he has hit it to TEs, or Welker, or Stallworth, Moss, etc. And EVERY time he hits it IN STRIDE only a couple of feet out of the reach of the DB. In the past, this play was pretty limited to the TEs, and Graham and Watson caught a decent amount. This year, the WRs have been incorporated into it, and its almost an unstoppable play.
If teams play man on us and we run the inside WR on a deep slant or skinny post, as long as he gets 6" inside the DB, Brady threads it in every time. Thats a pass many QBs wont even try to hit, and Brady so far this year has been absolutely perfect with it.

i think brady sees the field better then ANY QB in the history of the NFL...

u tell me wut other QB can have 4-5WR in the nfl, and have as much success...

manning is great, and i think has a better deep ball...but give him 4 AVERAGE WR's, and he wont be able to see them...

he can see openinngs between 3 guys usually...thats all he looks for...b/c one of em at elast will get separation...

Yeah, the "in stride" part is key, and it's been really impressive. Stallworth and one of Welker's TDs last game were a direct consequence of that. If it's not in just the right place, the WR has to reach to get it, goes off balance and gets tackled easily.

I think that's part of what Welker was alluding to when he said Brady doesn't put the WRs in dangerous spots. Awkward catch = awkward position & a chance to get creamed or hurt, but Brady doesn't let that happen much. He throws lead passes really well. That's only possible when the WRs and QB are really on the same page, I think.

IMO, his "best" passing skill is making that 1/2 step right, 1/2 step up to get the extra 1 - 1 1/2 seconds to hit the open man

I'd definately say the 0-5 yard out, it's always dead on the receiver's hands with touch and velocity. He's remarkably consistent at this crucial throw.

Brady's best skills (plural) are looking off the safety, and knowing where the rushing pressure is and taking just that little half step to avoid it....

But, if you are talking about what his best pass is, I think the crossing patterns, regardless of depth...very rarely does he miss that pass and also very rarely does he throw it in a way that gets his receiver killed...but I also like his out patterns....

I know its not what you're looking for, but IMO what sets Brady apart is his pocket presence and the ability to sense pressure, step up in the pocket, and buy himself the extra time needed to make the big play when he most needs to.

All things being equal, this is where Brady kills most teams... they know they need to pressure him... they even put an extra guy on him leaving someone uncovered...

Brady, seemingly with eyes in the back of his head, knows how long to stand in the pocket, when to step up and throw, or when to scramble... usually finding the receiver who is most open for a big play when it's most needed

His skills are all there but there are other guys out there with good arms, good finesse/short pass players, that lack Brady's pocket presence

That was always one of the most glaring differences between he and Bledsoe and I think it's also a big differentiator between him and the rest of the QBs in the league.

He seems to have a little trouble adjusting to the extra time the OL's been giving him lately, though. Someone else noted that there have been times where his internal alarms seem to have gone off when there wasn't anybody near him.

Here's a vote for the undervalued pocket awareness thing, the little shuffle, the buying of time, the sense of direction of pressure, and ability to stay focused with the pressure coming, the ability to find the open guy.

Errr, throwing from one's ass is not what I'd rate highly.

So there. No ass throws. And no slides head-first.

My other personal favorite thing is to watch that delivery. His delivery is like watching physical poetry in motion. It's fluid, and it's got quickness, and the ball rockets out of there like a laser. I don't know if it's humanly possible to throw with better mechanics or put more zip on it. I don't know how guys can catch balls like that in the cold. My hands hurt just thinking about it.

I agree 100%. He has better pocket prsence than Mr. Happy Feet, IMO.
But, as I said in an earleier post, I also liek the way he not only goes through his progressions, once he knows what he is doing with the ball, he will look off the safety...and hardly any QB can do that
