The only thing that has me scratching my head is not addressing TE needs and cutting Gordon.

You're right.. They didn't do a damn thing to "address the TE need" at all this year. They only signed 4 Veteran TEs and traded for another veteran TE.

But, you're right. They didn't address it at all. SMH..

What you fail to acknowledge is that 1 of the TEs had personal issues and asked to be released. 2 of the other TEs were suspended. 1 for 4 games and the other for 1 game. The veteran TE they traded for (Saubert) was released. And LaCosse was injured for 5+ games.

The obvious problem you're missing is that Kraft is a man of integrity. As such, it would be beneath him to allow men like AB on the team.

Really?
Integrity but got caught getting HJs from hookers?
Boy please. Kraft is a straight G

If we don’t come out with a big drive outta the half, it’s probably over.

That’s a good point. Used to be Brady would throw to whoever was open. These days it seems he’s made up his mind before the snap that some receivers won’t get the ball and he stops looking once he hasn’t found one his preselected targets open.

His pick was towards a rookie, and the braindead play from meyers, a rookie. He's not exactly wrong not trusting them to the fullest...

Brady throws a dumb pick and takes it out on his WRs. Then the offense falls apart. So he gets frustrated and throws a downfield bomb into double coverage and almost gets picked again. He’s regressed.

I dont get posts like this.

Everyone is like "Brady needs to get over his rookie averseness". Then he throws a ball to Harry trusting him to cut at an angle where the defender at worst breaks the ball up, Harry screws up and yet Brady gets the blame.

Could he have stared it down less? Yeah but this is like 80/20 on Harry.

Those long bombs into double coverage to Jules on the other hand seem like FU throws.

Brady is doing another show about himself.

We have second half left. Need to score points opening half and Def stiffens get a TO here and there we're right in this. I like to see Hurry Up No Huddle to get a groove NO PENALTIES.

For 363839, who laughed at my remark...here's the 2nd-down way out of bounds throw to Edelman. See anything open?

This is the frustrating thing about this offense. The plays are there, but Brady is being robotic. I know it has worked for him,but this offense needs him to be a bit different. Take what the defense gives you. It is not that hard. Some guys are getting open.

Dear Robert Kraft: thank you so much for putting your pride and ego before the good of the team and refusing to do the most obvious thing in the history of all sports ownership to fix the disaster that is this offense, i.e. re-sign AB.

Will you really doom this team's chances of winning #7 just for the sake of your pride? Do you really care that little for the players and coaches that work for you?

Not Krafts fault Bill did not properly address the TE or WR issues in the offseason.

Josh brought his checkerboard set for the first half. I expect....a checkerboard set in the second half, or at least on any critical play.

What is he supposed to do? NOBODY is open.

He's not going to hit every play, and when no ones open, he has to throw it away.

He is under a lot of duress because of that.

I know posters say "so and so was open" , but with the little time he has they need to get open quicker, with more separation.

The young guys are not fighting enough. The are big. Use it!!!

He's missing guys who are open though...and he's under throwing others

Man, it really isnt worth being up 3 am for games anymore lol

Brady is part of the problem.

He is. But he seems so, so resigned to the fact that no one is getting open / getting it right.

There is no question that was a frustrating half. The opening drive stalling, the missed Simon sack, and the iffy tackling were tough to watch.
That’s the problem. Brady is resigned to a bad outcome instead of creating a good outcome.

The defense had one bad drive where they missed a sack and another big tackle by Chung. Apart from that they played ok.

The offense just looks abysmal so far.

Not much else to say.

Not sure what there is the offense can do at halftime that they were not able during the week. But unless something weird happens they will need the defense to get multiple turnovers.

Big drive coming up.

Well said, the defense actually is good minus one really bad play on 3rd down (on a short field due to the Int) and admittedly an abysmal series of allowing pass and catch to the endzone. Other than that they've don't well enough. Keep in mind the O being as poor as they are will be giving a bit more opps for Houston's O.
The O is poor. If I'm a DC I'm playing big and forcing the Patriots to throw. The passing game is bordering impotent. Except for Jules there doesn't seem to be a Brady to receiver connection that is drawn up. Everything is Brady in the pocket longer for an ad lib pass. Nothing to say other than keep plying it and hope something starts crystallizing. IMHO, as I and others have been saying since April, this O desperately needs a TE who can be a receiving threat. But since that isn't going to happen just gotta hope the passing game gels with enough practice.

Yeah this was def not on Brady

Truth hurts

It would be nice if Tom could play at a fairly high level till 45. Right now it isn't looking like that will happen. I know it isn't just him, but Tom has made it work before with substandard cast. He can't do it anymore.

This offensive scheme has a big weakness to go along with it's big strength. That being (provided you get players who can run it) you need guys who can win 1 on 1 by sustaining and hopefully increasing mild advantages.

Designed plays are set up to get a single player space and then have dump off options. This offense is more designed to get the angle based off what the DB is doing pre-snap and beating him to the spot. If you are facing more talented players across the board get that minor advantage means very little. They will still beat you to the spot.

If that is the case you're better off with designed play calls to get someone open. Sadly we are short on those kind of plays.

Cannon looking really bad.
