Kaepernick ..... Tryout Edition

Now, he can sue them for collusion - especially if no one bothered to make the trip to his “new workout”.

Thats not collusion.

I like his little rant after the workout about he will show up anywhere at anytime literally right after he wouldn’t show up to the approved time and place the NFL set up. That and the accent he somehow developed overnight. Complete fraud.

I have said that Kaep is better than many of the backups in the league. If that meets your definition of a "good" quarterback, then so be it.

With regard to you believing that he was a train wreck of a person for demonstrating against police violence by kneeling at the stadium, I leave you to your own opinions (agreed to by many here, and by probably 40% of the country).

If you think Kaepernick is a good QB I will gladly negotiate the sale of anything with you.
If he wasn’t a train wreck of a person he would have gotten a backup job. But he is and that overcomes his borderline backup level talent.

Because this has nothing to do with a football player trying to find his way back into the NFL.
I have access to some nice FL land that is for sale.

So, Kaep isn't interested in playing in the NFL? presumably not in the last 3 offseason also?

Where is the bolded part reporter? Can you provide a link?

It’s just Florio speculation. Florio is talking out of both sides of his a** as usual to stir the pot.

Florio’s theory doesn’t even make much sense.

I truly hope this was meant to be a joke. You think that ongoing oppression against blacks ended in the 80's? truly unbelievable

Presuming that you were serious, Kaep was protesting treatment of blacks by police, not all the ongoing oppression in the US.

No, it isn't. Are we in 1930?

...he wouldn’t show up to the approved time and place the NFL set up... Complete fraud.
apparently it WAS a set-up, and the NFL is the complete fraud. Maybe they both are, but the NFL is sleazy in this instance.

You can't be serious.

Surprised? The NFL had complete control, including them controlling which media could come, and who would be the receivers.
========
So, the tryout still took place. 6 teams attended. I doubt that anything will come of this.
Any team that signs him would need to be financially (most teams are) and have no intent to move (and therefore need NFL assistance.

This is the silliest statement this year, and we have had some impressive ones.

Keep want to work for the NFL, because that is his chosen profession.

Cool it with the superlatives, jfc.

No, it's not a silly statement. This guy, in his own case, thinks the entire league conspired to keep him out of a job for standing up for a cause he clearly thought was bigger than his own self. It is entirely reasonable to wonder why he would want to work for that same league. Financial reasons are off the board, as he made millions in a deal with Nike and collected whatever checks he did from the NFL before.

If it's a battle he sees it as, and victory to him is getting his job back - okay, he's hyper competitive. But, as we do when we're bored, to ponder why he would want to even work for that league again is not silly, and far from the most outrageous thing said on this board.

Florio cited Kaepernick’s lawyer and Kaepernick’s agent for the info.
He cited the lawyer for the info Kaepernick didn’t want to sign the waiver for employment liability. The theory it was an elaborate set-up and opens the NFL to another lawsuit is all from Florio.

At least I don’t see anything from him backing that up in his article.

Well they could have handled the anthem thing better but no one wanting to sign Kaepernick makes perfect sense to me.
He stinks and he brings baggage. If you stink you better not bring baggage and if you bring baggage you need to not stink.

I wasn't really talking about team's decisions in not signing him. I do, however, think it's insanely pathetic that the league considers someone trying to make a political statement more "baggage" than, you know, the litany of players that have assaulted women, sexually abused and harassed women, and possibly murdered others (as we joking bring up so often) - but that's an entirely different narrative that speaks way beyond just the 32 teams in the NFL and the public as a whole.

A non-standard waiver is precisely what makes it a set-up. The NFL clearly wanted assurances they would never see Kaep in court.

We know the NFL legal team is sleazy. Have we forgotten about defamegate?

I don’t think he is close to better than many of the backups.
He is a train wreck of a person for many more reasons than just kneeling.

The baggage I am referring to is primary his penchant to cry out for personal attention with no respect for being part of a team.
He can protest whatever he wants. But when it gets in the way of his job and creates a distraction that’s baggage.

You're reiterating something I did not refute. I know that's what you said. And in fact, I was pretty much agreeing with you that I don't blame teams for passing on him. I chose to further speak on the idea of "baggage", and how weird it is that we exist in a league where that is worth this entire controversy while we let sexual and harmful abuse run with like, a 4 game suspension.

Plenty of players in the NFL have no respect for being apart of a team, or they wouldn't do the insane stuff that they do in the free time, such as what I've outlined in the past two posts.

Again, I'm not disagreeing with your original post. As for this post, I don't think this is a personal cry out for attention, and that's the only real point I'm disagreeing with you on, but that's not a big deal right now.
