Tua Tagovailoa injured today - considered serious

Wow. Hopefully he makes a strong recovery

I saw this live. He was tackled from behind by two players, and it appeared he not only came down on his right hip at an angle, but one of the players landed on it at the same time. One of the sideline reporters said he was screaming in pain as he was carted off.

It seems to me that he was stabilized in the locker room, then went straight to an ambulance. IMHO, I didn't hear about him being airlifted, but if he was, it was likely to transport him quickly to the hospital at Tuscaloosa. It's a state of the art facility that is also used by Alabama's sports teams, and where his records would be located, as well as some staff who would know him and his recent surgery. The hospital is about an hour by ambulance from Mississippi State's stadium, so a medivac helo would be useful.

Apparently Harris wanted to leave as well & was all broken up in the locker room.

Such a shame.

Hopefully he had taken out an insurance policy.

TOOT MY OWN HORN MOMENT......

Took me only 10 years but I am a.......
“Rotational Player and threatening Starters job”
That’s what I’m talkin about.

I can't see how or why someone is equating this to Bo Jackson. The problem with jackson's hip--even if it's the same injury--is that the hip did not have adequate blood supply to heal.

Hopefully he had taken out an insurance policy.
I’m sure he did. I know they’re very expensive, so it would be difficult to make up what he would actually make as a pro, but he should still have millions coming to him if he can’t play again.

I'm sorry for the kid.

I read he needs to get surgery today or tomorrow morning tops, so there is also a timing element that is critical.

The injury interrupted the blood supply. The hip joint essentially died. Care in the first few hours very important- this fracture has significant risk of avascular necrosis

I thought it was weird that he’s had (I believe) multiple ankle surgeries and come back in a short span of time. Seems unusual for college especially.

I hope those decisions didn’t set him up for this injury from a general stability issue. Hard to say one way or the other.

Sounds like a subcapital femur fracture - not the most common hip fracture but with the greatest risk of AVN

Awful. Hope he has a speedy recovery, is 100% ready for the NFL draft.

Fractured hip. Brutal.

Saban **** the bed with that decision. He shouldn’t have even been playing in the first place. They could have ***** slapped Mississippi State without him and they had an FBS opponent the next week. And he damn sure shouldn’t have been playing once up 35-7 in the first half.

Pay college athletes

I agree with your statement but no amount of payment equals what just happened to the kid. You’re looking at $50-$100 million over the course of his contract.

Could have happened first series vs Auburn - freak injury
