Gronk?

Kraft should find it in his heart to forget what AB tweeted about him. It's not like he was making stuff up. I know it won't happen but we could really use him right now for this brutal stretch of games. The kick in the nuts would be if AB joins another team and we lose because AB was the difference maker.
Doesn't look like Gronk will be back. I was hoping at start of season that he might change his mind and come back for the last few games and playoffs. Still holding my breath.
I hope N. Harry can be effective in the red zone and Wynn stays healthy, among others of course.

Curious how much Gronk makes with the tv gig.

The League will not let him play this year.
Sources: AB not expected to return this season

From Schefter:

Brown is continuing to push for his return to the NFL, and he is scheduled to meet with the league Thursday to address the sexual assault allegations he faces, but obstacles await the free-agent wide receiver at every step.

If Brown were to get an offer from any of the three teams that have been in contact with him, the NFL would be prepared to place him on the commissioner's exempt list, according to sources.

If Brown is placed on the commissioner's exempt list, the team that signed him would have to pay him until the league's investigation is resolved, which might not happen before the season ends.

Additionally, Brown has not turned over all of the evidence the NFL has requested to gain a broader understanding of his case, according to a source.

AB on double secret probation. . .

That's why Pats let him go and no team will touch him.

Well played, Roger!

"Yes, PatriotsReign, there is a Generic Airport Player! He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the NFL if there were no Generic Airport Player ! It would be as dreary as if there were no PatriotReigns. There would be no childish rumors then, no tire kicking, no Practice Squad topics to make intolerable this forum..."
My brathu, I agree.

I can’t stand it when any of our members behave as if they influence ANYTHING in regards to our Patriots.

some race to be “The First” to post news everyone has access to while others might see someone at an airport and post it along with their speculation

Yup, it adds pure joy & love to our boring lives!:p

He is not coming back. Wish the media would find something else to write about instead of reporting lies that the gullible will believe.
There is a need for some serious deprogramming among some people around here.

Old news...but I'm watching this situation like a hawk...

I wish it had been possible to retain Allen but it was not to be. His hands were garbage but blocking was his thing

They used to be his thing. He’s done, I think.

I don't think that we know whether he could be ready for the playoffs.

From Roger Goodell's perspective, Brown's recent tweets against the NFL mean the star has as much likelihood of playing this year as a gentile carving swastikas at a synagogue being encouraged to convert by the local Rabbi.

You can't keep tweeting the NFL to go "f*** itself" and two minutes later be contrite.

And if the NFL somehow turns the other cheek? Brown will probably do Ecstasy and Tweet some more of his "hot take" sentiments that will get him banned.

The man is emotionally unwell and there is no reason to believe he will be playing again this season.

I’d be shocked if he plays at all this year.

I am outraged by this post and the assumptions it makes about Patriot fandom.

The irresponsible way this post talks about some of our fans reminds me of the way the media just makes assumptions and shovels "fake news" at us.

Just thinking about how the media mistreats people reminds me about your post. In fact, that mistreatment by the media being so much like your post proves that your post is irresponsible and baseless because the media is irresponsible and baseless.

....

On second thought, I think you're right about a lot of posts on here and the internet in general.

This is patently unfair to AB. It’s a civil suit. Even if the NFL wanted to do its investigation it should get on with it. Frankly there’s no precedent for placing on exempt list for civil suit. They don’t want to do it. So they sent out the letter scaring others from signing him. This is payback for the way he got out of his contract with Raiders.

There was no precedent for suspending Brady for 4 games either due to the "Ideal Gas Law", the current NFLPA contract is extremely weak in this area and the "32" are a tight group who will hold on to their power through Roger..

The same rule for Kaepernick, a lot of this is done through back channels...

AB will not be walking through the Pats door or any NFL door any time this season..

OTOH either will Gronk as he has to put his weight back on and pass the prerequisite urine tests. He promotes the use of CBD oil for recovery, so probably safe to say that he uses it for pain along with PED's to heal from some of his many injuries..

Remember Ben Watson and his 4 game suspension for trying to heal after he retired??

What's the latest, if any, on Dwayne Allen. The dude was too expensive for a blocking TE. But he was a very good blocker. If we can get him cheap (with our current cap situation not like there's any other option) for the rest of the season, it'd be fantastic. It would help our running game a lot. I bet he takes 70% of the snaps.

I suppose AB will receive at least some of the Raiders/Patriots guarantee, so it will get worked out that way, but isn't this collusion?

Don't sign the player because we will ban him, but we won't investigate the allegation until the player is signed by a team?
