Chargers Being Discussed as a Team to move to London

That's just terrible news. London should not have an NFL team, period. And the Chargers, victims of incompetent ownership, belong in San Diego.

Terrible for the league, players and fans. They should never have left San Diego. It makes more sense to have a Canadian or Mexican team. La Cargar. Yo voy a cargar :p

LOLZ NYFL

So I’d imagine the NFL would re-align the AFC to accommodate this. It’s a brutally terrible idea but it’s become clear that the NFL owners are just looking to maximize their short-term profits over a long-term goal for the league.

Undoubtedly a London team would become part of the AFC East, which means we have to travel there once a year...

Unless they make it part of NFC East removing the cowboys. But AFC is more likely. I don't think they want to upset the NFC rivalries.

Lol Rivers didn’t want to move to LA I doubt he goes to Europe.

It will lead to some sort of realignment such as...

London team - AFC East

Dolphins-AFC South

Texans- AFC West

I am from Eastern Europe and having opportunity to watch NFL games on the Old Continent is fantastic. However N IMO teams should be connected only with american cities.

"Hey, let's move the Chargers to division rival territory in LA. Brilliant!" - NFL a few years ago

The league is basically throwing crap against a wall to see what sticks at this point regarding the Chargers.

Chris

I was thinking the other day that LA can't even support one team never mind two.

Taking them out of San Diego seems to have been a disaster. These missteps could potentially see them on the verge of collapsing given the lack of support in LA, along with the fact I would think no free agents are going to willingly want to move to London...or at least it would seem unlikely. The other question - and maybe those across the pond could shed some light on this - is I don't know salary-wise how taking a deal there would hurt the player vs playing in the states taxes-wise.

But this news could be bad. At least in LA, you're in a stadium everyone at least wants to go to and have a shot at possibly getting back into it and building a fan base. But moving to Europe? I just can't see that working out since it probably wouldn't be competitive unless they're able to figure out a way to make it attractive enough to attract players. Otherwise, they'll be forced to give every free agent a deal they can't refuse to get them.

They'd be better off to move to St. Louis since that city at least cared about football, or another market here in the U.S. But for now, they appear to be a team in limbo who I'm sure, will be in even worse shape when the players/staff hear about this.

Remember the days when the Pats were gonna be moved by Orthwein? They'd have been the...

...St. Louis Stallions.

I don't say this often enough (because sometimes he doesn't make it easy to say)...

...but thank God for RK. :)

Undoubtedly the owners want a London super bowl at some point...

I still don't understand why San Antonio isn't an option? You draw from Mexico and it's become a huge market.

I don't think it will thrive there given the Cowboys dominate that region...

Two Positives the owner will continue to get rich and now they will have real fans.:)
