Lost LOS battle on both sides of the ball

No answer for 3 TE sets

Too many mental mistakes

Good news is BB has tape on the Ravens and about 10 weeks to rethink strategy

Sanu was impressive

Red zone concerns on O

Worrisome is that NE will be facing more highly competent rushing teams

Curious how many snaps Meyers got
Did Meyers play ?

I know lots of people were happy we took the 3 before the half. It is 20/20 hindsight but I think not going for it was a major reason for the loss. We had the Ravens on their heels and tying the game would be deflating for them heading into the half. We kept it close at 17-13 but with how the Ravens were making a number of long drives and tiring out the defense, I believe we needed to land a major blow. We never caught up and, as a result, their players kept believing in themselves.

Analytics sometimes don't account for momentum and landing the killing blow; yet, even the data pointed to us having a good shot of getting the touchdown and thus having a much better statistical chance of winning the game than with a made field goal. What do other people think about that choice at that juncture of the game?
I liked kicking the FG at the time, knowing we were getting the ball back after halftime. I think it would have been vindicated if not for Edelman's fumble-touchdown. The Pats were marching down the field and on the verge of taking the lead, and the game plays out a lot differently without that huge one-play swing.

NKheal was a healthy scratch. People act like he’s going to come in and look like DK Metcalf? Brady may not even have good chemistry with Neal, he has zero patience with young WRs
Does Harry have patience with QB’s who throw the ball over their heads or behind them? Asking for a friend

I HATE seeing Watson on clear passing plays over Meyers.

You will see it in the snap counts that they played 11 through essentially the entire game. They needed Watson to block and chip inside to give Brady any time at all.

The fact we played most of this game again in one personnel package tells you all you need to know about how hamstrung the offense right now is. Diversity and flexibility is usually how they create an edge.

The only tool they had today was going no huddle and hoping that the superior conditioning will be a big factor.

Funny thing is, I wanted Lamar Jackson with our 1st round pick. Though we could’ve used him as a running back and gadget player, as well as eventually the Brady replacement. As good as Sony was last year, as important a player he was for us, he’s been completely useless this year. I’d love to see Damien Harris get some carries, he was excellent in college.

Speaking of draft choices, that horrible SlowJuan Williams trade up, instead of picking 2 players in the 2nd round, is really coming back to bite them in the ass. WR’s Mecole Hardman & DK Metcalf were taken in those slots, meanwhile SlowJuan Williams watches all those games in street clothes. Imagine having Hardman and Metcalf in this offense instead of a SLOW DB that has done nothing, especially when WR was such a big need. Frustrating. Very questionable.

I’ve been saying this for a while now...huge huge question marks made by our front office when it comes to drafting skill positions.

Michel > Chubb

Passing on L Jackson twice

Passing on DK Metcalf twice for two players who have yet to make the active roster

Passing on C Ridley

big man do same job as other big man, catch ball do block run ball score spike go!

Realistically, maybe there's some crossover as a big "red zone threat" between your TEs and your larger WRs and maybe your larger WRs can contribute with blocking a bit more and run up the seam or something more but they're not equivalent to a full-on TE by any stretch.
Ross, they are different positions with different assignments anywhere on the field. Yes, some of the bigger WRs are greater redzone threats but they're not interchangeable as tight ends.

Lamar Jackson isn't a good QB. He's an athlete playing the QB position and his advantage is that teams aren't used to playing or practicing against an offense like that.
Maybe true, but he can make all the throws a QB needs to be able to make, and his athleticism buys him time to stay on the field and stay effective while he develops into a better QB.

Good point. And that fumble-touchdown was pretty much the back breaker. It was good to see us moving the ball at will for a stretch before dumb mistakes caused the wheels to fall off.

Did Meyers play ?

He might have gotten a couple snaps very early on when Dorsett was out for a series with what looked like an injury.

Highly confident BB will have something conjured up in January. We can’t lose a playoff game letting them run like that. It will all come down to execution and whether we have good enough players, which I think we do

Yup. Thats a game changing call. People are way to easily overlooking that. That was a scoring play. All scoring plays are reviewed. They didn’t see him being pulled? The broadcast team was doing it for them.

That screams something. Fixing, influencing etc. Aren’t the Ravens something stupid and 1 at home for SNF?
That’s not something reviewable. On review they’d see it, say, yup that was illegal, and then do nothing because the rules don’t allow that penalty to be called on review.

I think it's a mistake to assume Metcalf would be anywhere near as productive here as he's been in Seattle. They've basically simplified his role to the point that it requires almost no nuanced understanding or the offense or route tree.

One could definitely argue that maybe the Pats should be more open to carving out that kind of role in their own offense, but that would be going against a pretty basic philosophy that's yielded a ton of consistent success so I'm not really prepared to go that way.

Lots of mistakes but most correctable with coaching and hopefully returning personnel like Wynn.

Can we defend tight ends is a question I have. The Eagles have 2 pretty good ones. Pederson will be attacking Newhouse almost certainly in 2 weeks.

Game was lost for me at 24-20 with the raven driving. The ravens had no respect for this defense. They converted on a 3rd and 5 to keep the drive going and went for it on 4th and 4. That whole drive is where the game was lost. This defense came up small

I hope we stop acting like "the boogeymen". Will make the team better.

Jackson is an incredible athlete and he was poised tonight. But I tend to agree that he is not sustainable as some elite QB. They beat us with their ground game almost entirely. The dude is going to get a serious injury eventually. It’s a matter of time.

Metcalf can get open and catch the ball.....we need that

The most agonizing thing for me is i have to wait two weeks after a crappy loss like this. This team really needs to beat philly.
If they don’t they can still win the SB.
Last year was the worst regular season of the BB era. And we put it together to win the SB. Losing a game or 2 isn’t a big picture impact.

Alright I’ve calmed down, no more irrational posts lol. The offense is going to be good, Sanu looked really good tonight. Newhouse my goodness I’m praying Wynn plays vs Dallas cause the LT position is horrendous right now, he’s so slow getting out of his stance like he’s playing with cement shoes.

The defense worries be, the run defense has been bad two weeks in a row now. Secondary I still believe is the best in football but the run defense needs to be better, not sure what they need to do to fix it.

Yeah the 4th and 4 conversion was effectively the play that won the Ravens the game, IMO.
