On to bye week!

Eagles will be on a bye too so no advantage there

For perspective, last year we lost 34-10 to the Titans before the bye. Two years running this team goes into the bye with an eye towards some R&R more than a sense of urgency. The good news is we can rebound as long as Bill rips the team a new one.

This year's team also coined a nickname for themselves before they managed to dominate a legitimate top quarterback. That type of confidence drifts into overconfidence in a way that is unlike typical Belichick teams. I don't mind last year's defense giving themselves the nickname after they decimate Rivers, Mahomes, and Goff. But this early in the 2019 season? Hubris through and through, even if only in jest.

Now with the defense no longer chasing all-time records, maybe we can get back to focusing on the next opponent. We win a Super Bowl this year only with an elite defense propping up an average offense that could become borderline good. With that in mind, I stand by it being the defense's fault we lose this game. They allow 30 points minus the fumble return off Edelman.

Postgame interviews with the Ravens show a team with a sense of perspective and humility. Let's hope we can get back to basics on our end.

Positives:

White made an amazing catch and still a very good player.
Sanu is slowly getting integrated on this offense and he is looking better and better.
Edelman is still the #1 WR, guy is a machine.
Harry is finally healthy.

I think losing a game in November will finally bring some of the players down to earth, we are not unbeatable.

Team is overrated. First decent qb destroys the Boogeyman. Lol bunch of clowns. Hightower was so bad out there.

I dont care if a player has been with the team for 100 years, the penalties were inexcusable. The fumble by Edelman was unacceptable, cant cough up the ball in that situation. Tom needs to play better and he needs to stop throwing to no one and getting to the point where you have to throw it away. We had to play perfect after being down 17-0 early and they could not get it done. I really hope we see this ravens team again and at home, now there is film to review on how we match up with them. This game should be a wakeup call to every player on the team.

no one is

Wentz gonna em up in 2 weeks.

Run D was low key a concern for me the last few weeks and it finally got completely exposed tonight. I don’t think it’s terrible, but it’s very beatable.

Was also disappointed in the pass rush of Collins/VN although I get you have to play differently against Lamar.

Every team needs to take a page out of the Chargers playbook from the WC playoffs last year. Lamar was completely inept in that one. Gotta find a way to recreate that.

What worries me there is that the ravens power run game seems damn good. Was it as good last year without Ingram? I don’t know if we can consistently stop their run game when they are in either 22 or 13 personnel if we are in a dollar defense with DBs everywhere.

There’s no more Luke Folks and mccoys or Darnolds anymore.

No overreacting but that game was a disgrace. Sanu was the one bright spot. Our offensive line is a joke. I hope Wynn makes the difference. There is nothing bill b could have done about that with Andrews sickness and Wynn injury. But our offense is a travesty. We have zero big play ability.
We still are a very good team but the holes are very obvious and there is no quick fix. The ravens are nothing special and they killed us tonight. Now we know why bill has been trying to make moves all season.

Do we really want to see baltimore again though? in 2012 they beat us twice.

I really hope someone calls out the defense for giving themselves a nickname - they failed bigly in their first test, truly a bad night ..Lamar f-ing Jackson only throws SIX incomplete, 26 first downs, Bal had the ball for 37 minutes...I almost want to give them a pass because they've bailed out the offense from some pretty ineffective games this season...feel like the offense shot blanks most of the night aside from 2, maybe 3 drives... Oline wasn't great but there were plenty of plays where Brady had lots of time and couldn't or wouldn't make a play...

I’m still trying to figure out how we couldn’t figure out the pistol offense ran by UCLA under Carl dorell. And the option apparently is also confounding.

They whipped us up front. Could not stop the run. committed stupid penalties

You nailed it. Zero big play ability

Doesn’t help that Brady is #1 in the league grounding the ball.

They have to work on that, also he needs to stop forcing the ball, that pick was pretty bad.

Tough loss. I saw it coming. Ravens got healthy at the exact right time. Had 2-weeks to prepare. Pats haven't played anyone that talented and well coached all year. That being said they were right in it and almost made the comeback. I think the Pats can beat this team in the AFCCG even if it's in Baltimore. This was a good test for this team even if they failed. A great prep for the Eagles who will try to establish the run and have a RPO type offense. Gotta win these out of conference road games now that the Ravens have the tie breaker.

Dorsett 2 for 13. We need more from this guy. He was invisible tonight. Brady tried to force it to sanu most likely because no one was open.
