2019 College football season thread

unfortunately I think your right about Urban. I think he’d take over CFB if he went to SC

as for Kelly being the best we can do. Is he really though? Rhule or satterfield couldn’t do a better or as good a job as Kelly? It’s been 10 years, I just feel like it’s time to see if someone else can do the job

I am happy Kelly has the program in a much better place than the guys between him and holtz did, but I think the way the program struggled in those times has made Kelly look better than he is. Those guys were just bad coaches and bad hires. I think a lot of good coaches could do what Kelly is doing

As much as I can’t stand finebaum I thought his comments yesterday were spot on about Kelly

I had completely forgotten that it had been ten years already. Holy ****, the time is moving fast. Honestly, if I was ND and I was dead set on moving on from Kelly, a name I would look at would be Venables. How he hasn't gotten more interest is beyond me. The other two I would look at would be Fickell and Norvell if I was going the offensive route.

academic re
Notre dame needs to 1) let up on academic restrictions if they want to win a championship and 2) hire urban Meyer
academic restrictions are preventing them from getting the best players in the country. No way 90 of players at Bama/LSU/Georgia are getting into ND. It is what it is...they do the best they can with the players they can get.

I agree any of those guys would be worth a look

Maybe, but they have competed with some of the better teams. they played georiga close. they played clemson close in 2015. Academc restrictions are hurting for sure, but coaching an scheme in my opinion are the bigger problem

Tell me how this team constantly pumps out great lineman, but they can never run the ball against any of the better teams

Considering FLA+7 vs Georgia on Saturday, but I don’t like messing with college football all that often.

@KontradictioN —you’re the expert on all things Gators. What do you think?

I think we can cover. I think we can put at least 30 on their defense now that we have all hands on deck. But Fromm has lit us up the last two years we played. Recent history says bet on the Gators to not cover but this is the best team we’ve had in years. Your choice. I don’t bet on sports at all.

Yeah, didn’t mean to put you on the spot or anything. I don’t like giving my opinion on sports wagering either, as I always feel bad if I give someone the wrong read. I just figured that you’d know about the Gators, that’s all. They seem to be much better than I expected them to be. Also, I’m wondering if the Bulldogs aren’t a bit overrated?

Possibly. We have Toney and Greenard back so we should be better on both sides of the ball. I think it’ll be a good game.

If it were me, i would take the Gators +7. not sold on the Bulldogs offense, and i think they are a bit over rated. Gators should be able to put up 27 on them and that could be enough to cover at least. but dont listen to me...i took the Irish over Michigan

Georgia is struggling mightily with pushing the ball down the field. Mostly on vertical and deep-breaking routes. The receivers are young and not being in the right spot at the right time for Fromm has resulted in INTs throughout the season. I would expect Grantham to dial up a lot of heat to speed that clock up in Fromm’s head and put that rapport (or lack thereof) to the test between he and his receivers.

Florida’s o line playing a lot better. Ran the ball well against LSU. That o line has been improving all year. Getting several key players back from injury. They could’ve won the LSU game if they had Zuniga and greenard. Wide outs are solid.

The biggest question mark in this game in my opinion are the Georgia receivers. I suspect Florida will load that box and key on swift while testing out how little help they can give their corners

Ladies and gentlemen...

God, Pitts is such a match-up nightmare for most teams.

Why did the ref prevent the snap.

Georgia with all these shifts. Bull ****

Ah, okay. Didn’t realize there was 10 men again. Jesus.
