Heck of a team in 2017. Also one of those clear “everything is meshing perfectly and everyone is having a career year, which will be impossible to repeat.” This is unsurprising. Pederson got full of himself with his ****y book and thought he was a genius, which he is not. The Eagles, like most teams, just get a really good season once in a while and are otherwise pretty mediocre.
I still think they should have kept Nick Foles. Wentz is something like 5-20 against teams with winning records and is always injured. The team clearly responded to Foles leadership and humility. Hats off to that dude for his consistently clutch performances. Bad move for the Eagles in losing Foles; bad move for Foles in going to a crap team (though Eagles forced his hand); bad move for Wentz in putting even more pressure on him as “the guy who needs to win a Super Bowl now”, or be second guessed forever as the guy they chose over their beloved Super Bowl hero and MVP.
