Gronk?

I know this will he or won’t he drives some people (and cats ;)) crazy, which I understand. But really, it’s to be expected for a guy who was in the conversation for ultimately being maybe the best tight end of all time.

And the thing is, even if it’s unlikely he comes back, it’s not crazy. I don’t think he’ll come back this year. Could he come back next year? Jason Witten, an inferior TE, came back and he’s on pace for 60 catches/600 yards. Would we welcome that from Gronk along with his blocking if he was back in game shape? Of course. So really it’s harmless speculation, even if it does get admittedly a little irritating.

Legalize a bunch of this stuff that you can get over the counter. Ridiculous that it isn't. Just an opinion. I don't make money on it lol.

Hey now. That’s our Gronk you’re talking about.

Our Gronk is a pathetic shill.
His Magic Oil masters just made him look like a brain dead Puppet

He should stick with roles like his “Silent cop who stands motionless on stage”

just saying

It's a marketing gimmick, from start to end.

What's not being addressed is that if he really does come back, how does he fit under the cap? He's not going to sign for the vet min.
If memory serves, he was due to make $9 million this year (but I gladly admit I may be misremembering so don't be surprised if someone corrects me). That number stays in play unless they restructure his deal (or straight up cut him).

Well this took a bad turn.

Gronk is staying retired. From all the horror stories I've read about players playing through injuries, and team doctors pushing them through insane pain, I genuinely think he doesn't have a lot of respect for anyone but the players.

He has a wealthy family that was always trying to keep him healthy and always made him consider getting second opinions on injuries. That's because NFL doctors are absolute garbage and will push you through anything they can. At some point, if you're given the other perspective so often, you start to realize - you are a commodity, and when your body craps out, you're taken to the trash. I think he finally had enough. Go him. I will legitimately be sad if he suits up again, his body has taken too much of a toll. What the hell is there to enjoy in life if you are enduring constant, constant pain.

What's all that about?

You're right in that fitting under the cap would be an issue, but he IS under contract. That's kind of the problem. $9 million. It would be prorated of course.

Oops.. I whiffed on that one. Forgot he was still under contract.

What is the NFL's rationale in making CBD okay during the season
but a violation in the off-season?

That is the pure genius of Goodell. CBD should not be banned anywhere for anything...IMO.

"Uh, rationale !? Don't talk about rationale! You kidding me? Rationale?"

THANK YOU.

I've been waiting for the "Gronk is coming back" crowd here to explain that little wrinkle.

Has nothing to do with Goodell. That's a pure CBA-related thing. Roger has no discretion. The CBA is very specific and explicit about the drug-testing regime and that is binding on Roger. His magic Article 46 powers are only in play for things not specifically negotiated and set down in writing.

The CBA says what things are tested for, when tests are done, how tests are done, etc. Roger doesn't get to make things up for this stuff.

Gronk said that he is not in pain.

He would play in a total of 7 games if he comes back for the KC game and the Pats make to Miami. This is his last shot to play with the boys and contribute to another Lombardi. His CBD oil would sell like hot cakes in NE if he returns to the Pats. The KC game would be like the movie "Rudy" as NEs favorite son returns home to help push the team over the finish line.

So many positives.

There is always a way to make room in the cap.

No...I know that...but Goodell deserves all the blame he can get.

So with a limited season...how many receptions / yards do you think he will get including playoffs. Thank you in advance for your response.
