Gordon to IR

He doesn't suck but he's not Flash Gordon anymore. He still has good speed, but it's not like his best days in Cleveland. Still, I'd rather seem him running routes out there than Dorsett or Jakobi Meyers. Even with losing a half step he's got great hands and size and still decent speed. Seems more like an effort thing to me and inconsistency. Even the commentators of some of the Pats games mentioned in a couple times where Gordon stopped his routes prematurely.

Gordon sucks. The party is over.

Wake up and smell the coffee. The Pats were looking for a reason to get rid of Gordon and rightfully so. Im no Doresett fan, but I give the man props for really improving his game as a Patriot. Dorsett has made some clutch catches when needed. Brady is trusting him more and more and that speaks loudly. Meyers is in his first year. So, Im willing to ride with him as role player.

I called out no show Gordon weeks ago and the "Home Boys" on here would hear none of it. I am proven correct once again after sizing up the situation. Brady needed more reliable passing weapons than Edelman and White. Gordon brought little to nothing in this offense.

Oh he will get healthy and come back at elite level with another team for sure.....IF he stays clean...if he can do that and plays for a contender....will come back to bite BB

He wont make it to a contender on the waiver wire.

“Home boys on here”?

Yikes.

You can say that again. From the looks of it, he did not see it coming!
And that sux...BB should have been straight with him rather than let media tell him he’s being waived after IR...it’s a business...but this makes no sense....good luck to Josh....probably come back to bite us

So this means we now have 1 open roster spot, wonder if a signing/trade is coming.

I came in here late. so has Gordon been placed on it because of the knee injury he got playing against the giants or is it something more. I read he practiced, and was close to being able to come back. the whole thing is bizarre.

This is nothing more than a philisophical disagreement.

I get placing him on IR and then releasing him when healthy so he has to go through waivers, but why not just try and trade him for something?

There has to be more to this.

Why release Tomlinson for Sanu if they planned on placing Gordon on IR?

I wonder if there is a trade that hasn’t been reported yet.

Belichick the GM strikes again. No wonder why Brady is thinking of leaving the team next year!!!! :p

I will miss Gordon, though. It is a shame that he does not have a happy ending at the Patriots.

Baltimore, Buffalo, New Orleans or Kansas City, maybe?
Ugh....please know....if a team picks up AB and Gordon....would be devastating

DidDid you hear? Danny Amendola is coming back! You know what that means, right? No more 3rd and outs for the offense!

“Home boys on here”?

Yikes.

Why take away one phrase out of a three paragraph post? I’m pretty sure he meant “home boys” as a clique reference and I agree with that. If you said Gordon was unproductive, you were met with a ton of disagrees and dislikes.

Its also different in terms of how many points the offense needs to produce in order to win given the strength of the defense.

The idea of the #3 WR having to get Edelman production in order to win feels like a bit of a stretch to say the least.
Yes but every "great" defense in the Super Bowl era has given up over 3o points once or twice.

Always need to win games any which way.

IN: a rookie WR (Harry) and mid-season addition in Sanu (a decent #2 WR at best)

OUT: healthy All-Pro, Hall of Fame WR (Brown) and a solid-to-sometimes great WR in Gordon
Yikes!

There is more to this. Belichick is prying Ertz and Nofun Lane Johnson from the Eagles. This solves ALL our problems.

"I'm gonna take your job. Ha ha!" - Sanu

"Hee hee. You're funny." - Gordon

"Sanu had the last laugh." - Morgan Freeman voice over

Regards,
Chris

Jesus. This is almost comical at this point. Harry is coming back at a perfect time. He should be slotted right into that role. Whether he can handle it or not remains to be seen.
And stay healthy...same goes for Wynn

Against Giants. Brady fumbled, the ball picked up by Giants' Golden running to score and Gordon tried to stop him...

Meyers against Jests was great....need to wait until you see him against top elite D’s....

This sucks, but to be honest it is probably for the best.

Judging from what we saw from Meyers last game I would say he can give us close to what Gordon did this year for the most part. Gordon was not the same player much of the year.

This is 2 years in a row he looks to have worn down before the season ended. I wonder what his conditioning has been like.
