Report: Owners willing to strip Goodell's disciplinary powers in next CBA...

We don’t even get that right now, just imagine how bad it will be with a 2nd bye week.
My viewing habits are
1) patriots
2) teams contending with the patriots
3) upcoming opponents
4) good games
5) watching other afce teams embarrass themselves.

I can usually get that on a Sunday afternoon but Thursday, Monday and Sunday night is where the matchup problems really show up.

Bb loves veterans. Hard to see him trading for any younger guys

Which is why sanders makes sense for us.

Why can’t they just cut a preseason game and not add a regular season game? There’s between 0 and 1 interesting division battles every season where games in week 17 even matter.

While preseason games are fairly boring...they are valuable for evaluating new players. That being said I'd like to see pre-season games cut to 2 or 3 but not shorten that normal 4 game time frame. I think teams should be spending more time practicing against each other in that time span (like the Patriots do often) and have less pre-season games.

Any nfl season without goddell as commissioner is a good season.

let him go back to the Jets where misery deserves company.

This would go badly for the players. Very predictable outcome. The “neutral” arbitrator would still be doing something he shouldn’t be doing and wouldn’t be any better than Goodell. Meanwhile, they’d now have to play more games.

17 games is an abomination to symmetry everywhere.

Joint practices would be better for evaluation.

This thread reminds me of something I've wondered about for years. Would the players as a whole be better off without the union? If individual players retained their own attorney for problems that arose they might be better off.

This is about 15 years too late.....

There are too many issues outside of just contracts for them to not be unionized.

Goodell losing his power to screw everything up will hurt us all in the post-season. What will be able to post about?
