Big cap swing for 2020. That blows.

Well if YAHOO says yes...

If true, it’ll be interesting to hear what the “employers have no business caring about what their employees do” contingent on the board have to say. I’m also curious about what they’d do if clients/customers started pulling or threatening to pull business because of the employee.

Kraft should have held firm and realized the team’s sky high popularity and hence value is derived from its on-field success which is largely attributable to Brady and BB. Sponsors might say this or that but if Pats keep winning, the team’s value will be upheld and so will it’s visibility and hence new sponsors will arrive. This was stupid of Kraft. If Brady and BB wanted AB here, Kraft should have given them more leeway. If this causes enough resentment to force Brady or BB to retire a year or two early, then Kraft would have lost and not gained value. Poor tradeoff.

Tone seems to have changed in here, or "the tide is turning" as they say. Are people against Brown's release now?

The steady drip of insider leaks from Pats organization (which is usually water tight) to media about discontent about AB’s release and how Kraft was responsible plus the very public interviews and messaging by Brady, completely out of character for him, tells me that there is still a lot of people very upset about Kraft doing this.

Seems to me that the Pats locker room was super happy to have AB. That he was working hard to absorb playbook. The staff were happy to have him. And it was a heavy handed top-down Kraft intervention.

They didn't cut him because of media pressure.

They cut him because he sent those asinine texts on that fateful Wednesday night.

There was ample media pressure prior to Brown sending those texts and there was no move to release him; that came after the texting fiasco.

You can disagree with the decision but the notion that this was a media hatchet job, or the team bowing to media pressure, is patently false.

Mate, this would be an ok response for the day after the release. Now that we have more information, that we know both Brady and BB wanted to keep him even after the texts, that Kraft forced the issue, and that it possibly involved some sponsor pressure on Kraft, .......... at this point to ignore all these new bits of information is just ignorance

Text messages with pictures of the second accusers children. Are you being intentionally obtuse?

Those pictures were sent to him by her. He only used them to make a point that she’s broke and hence doing a money grab. Are you being intentionally obtuse?

Might as well bring him back then

I have no clue but... Yahoo? Who the hell still uses Yahoo? Are you using Netscape and one of those free AOL trial cd’s too? :)

AB needs his money.

Lawyers are charging $500 an hour and up these days.

Ha. I guess that we do, on patsfans. 3 out of the 4 stories in the news ticker at the top left corner of this page are from yahoo sports.

Probably trust McCann over a Yahoo article... he is less definitive.

What can we expect from Antonio Brown’s grievance?

Still, Brown’s best card is the CBA and the collectively bargained limitations on forfeitable breaches of guaranteed money.

The grievance will take time to play out. Although the matter could be resolved through a settlement, Brown’s ill-advised decision to mock Patriots owner Robert Kraft on Twitter on Sunday doesn’t exactly serve as an olive branch for settlement talks. In fact, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports from a source that Kraft will “never” write a check to Brown after Brown’s tweets.

Kraft might not have a choice. We’ll see.

Given his personal issues, I have a suspicion releasing Brown was a PR move, likely one his legal team suggested. You know the angle prosecutors would try to frame.
Yup, releasing AB had more to do with Kraft's own case than some stupid texts he sent.

Which in itself is BS, Curran reading between single spaced lines and as usual, of late, drawing an unsupportable conclusion. Some media people lose their fastball. I suspect ol Tom E didn't lose any heat off whatever little he once had but willingly surrendered it. Curran was never a breaking Pats news type but he used to be well sourced on the day to day stuff. Now he is in the 'taek' business, kinda sad.

Also agree with @IcyPatriot, hardly new or separate thread worthy info

Curran has been pissing me off. He was one of the few sports writers that I thought had integrity, but now he's just another run of the mill antagonist writing sensationist articles. I guess there's more money in that. Props to Reiss for never going that route.

Well no considering “Bendover Bob” stemmed specifically from his handling, or lack there of, of Deflategate.
Thank god the name comes from deflategate, for a second I thought it had to do with him liking 2 digits up his rectum while being milked like a cow on an asian spa table. His and the teams reputations are intact.

Kraft’s legal team during discovery demanded all prior disciplinary records of every police officer involved in the Orchids case. The moral high ground is fine, but not from a flaming hypocrite like him. He sure was all about “innocent unless proven guilty” when his own butt was on the line. I haven’t respected the man since 2015 and likely never will. So, I’m automatically skeptical when Kraft cites an ethical reason for doing something. I don’t think he’d be “the most successful owner” or anything close to that if it weren’t for the two guys responsible for that success. And if these reports are true, he should take great deference to their opinion and not make a rash decision within hours of a “Breaking News” story. He could have suspended Brown if need be.

Once I heard the news,,,my stomach felt sick,,so sick I didnt sleep that night.
Going 19 - 0 was halved by 50 % once AB left,,and now with our injuries I will take 12 -4 for the Season in a heartbeat.
I know I shouldn't be dreaming of an undefeated Season,,but surely all of you inside your heart dream the this dream even if you dont admit it.
With this Defense ,,the Best we have ever had for a long time having AB just lining up on Offense was scaring the whole League.
Sure Tom is sick of losing such talent ,,we dont have a similar player ,,but my question is after picking him up with the luggage he had,,,,did he do enough to be cut ?
I am far away and really hear different opinions,,,couldn't we have just say,,ok that's it ,,,one more and you are out ?
And now I hear,,we may have to pay the man anyway.
Look I am a fan and I look around other cases and in my opinion,,what AB did as a Patriot was not enough to be cut right away.
They wont say it in public,,,but many in that dressing room are sad to see him leave.. GO PATS

With the schedule, I personally see 11-5 as a likely record. But A.B had to go. His twitter tirades since being released prove it.
