There is no positional group in the league that depends on continuity more than the OL and the Pats have less continuity on the line than at any time I can remember. They lost their center a week before the season and have started 2 tackles that they just picked up. Throw in the fact they lost 2 great blocking TE's and the 2 TE's on the roster have been banged up and it is not surprising to me that they have struggled running the ball.
Sony had the best post season running the ball for the Pats since Dillon and by all accounts "looked better" this pre-season. He has been hit deep in the backfield on numerous runs already this year. Seems awful premature to be questioning his ability all of a sudden.
I also do not buy into the fact that the Pats have played 3 bad teams as the Steelers have actually been solid this year. They lost a close one to Seattle after losing Big Ben mid game and were close yesterday at the 49ers. They may not have a good year now that Ben is gone but when the Pats beat them it was a solid win. Dolphins and Jets both clearly blow but the Pats did what you would expect and blew them both out.
