Why do we need to fill the spot? If we want someone from the Practice Squad to be active, then we'll activate him today. Otherwise, this can wait a couple of day while the team continues to have tryouts and make phone calls.

AB signs contract with McDonald’s after being released by the Patriots. The deal is reportedly the largest ever in McDonald’s history, at $17.50 an hour.

Bruh, just stop. Whether it was truly threatening or not, it was incredibly stupid.
Those are 2 different things.
I agree it was stupid.
I do not agree it was threatening.

You don't give opportunity to turn public perception against you by sending dumb **** to your accuser.

As someone that was just in the middle of a potential litigation with a government contracting agency, you let your lawyer do the communicating and stay out of it. Because if you get emotional, you loose.
Why would you expect AB to doing anything other than what AB feels like doing, and why would you ever expect him to accept he shouldnt have done it.
It’s who he is.

When will we find out if the $9 mill bonus gets voided?

Then who he is, is unemployed...he is a grown ass man. If he cant control himself even to that extent, then it's not worth the headache.

Don’t disagree but that’s not what was being discussed.

Maybe Reality TV special or series? Imagine the further trouble he would dig himself into..

He will join Colin Kaepernick, Ray Rice and Terrell Owens on the list of involuntary unemployed former NFL players.

I predict he absolutely without question ends up broke and the odds are well over 50/50 hr ends up in prison.

I think that I will bow out of this discussion.

SOME THOUGHTS

1) Belichick signed AB knowing that he had problems with the management of the last two teams. He knew the AB had behavioral issues that were related to dealing with the team.

2) BB gave the team a 2 week window before he was to pay the $5M (some say this isn't true). In any case, BB knows all about the ability to void the contract.

3) BB and the team worked hard with AB and gave him lots of reps in practice and in the game.

4) The rape and other issues with women came to light AFTER the team signed AB. Clearly, this was not disclosed (one violation). AB was warned about behavior. AB sent the emails/texts.

5) AB was released.

I have no problem with anything Bill did. With regard to those who predicted that AB wouldn't last, I can only say that no one brought up the rape issue when AB was signed.
So, if folks were able to predict this kind of issue, then congrats to them. As far as team behavior issue, BB could handle them. The court cases were becoming a distraction.

So it’s likely we going to get the 9 million based on a contract clause?

Gang...the train left the building....it's time to move on...he comparable to a bad storm that blows through and leaves impact.

Some posters on this site evidently love a good disaster.

I don’t know why people keep coming back to this. So what ? He didn’t get charged and he is still free.

The Patriots aren’t obliged to employ every non-criminal in the country. Just like AB is free to go about his life, the Patriots are free to run their business as they see fit within the rules established by the league.

“Innocent people” can be trouble. AB became too much trouble a long time ago.

The guy you’re responding to probably thinks the Patriots judged Jonas Gray criminally guilty.

.

Can we start a bunch of new threads so as to bump anything AB related off the first page?

Probably. But even if NE does, it won’t affect the cap this year but will be a cap credit next year.

But if they are confident they’ll have that credit next year, they could restructure some contracts to push some cap out of this year into next year.

Look at the bright side, the Stealers refused Belichick’s trade offer, which truly would have been a disaster.
