I don't think anyone ever denied this though. This was well known before we got him.
Before you could say
1. He's being a diva about the helmet **** but it's personal and he eventually got over it.
2. Okay Oakland fined him and he wanted out. He was **** about how he handled it, but whatever.
3. The rape accusation is unsubstantiated and there is no current evidence.
4. This second accuser might just be piling on and there's nothing there.
Now it's "he ignored the advice of his team, the league, and lawyer and made group text with him and his buddies berating the accuser for coming forward and brought her kids into it".
You can rationalize away the other **** under "he's just being a bit of diva" or plausible deniability. You can't with this. It was outright stupid, it was 100% initiated by him, it was self inflicted, it have more fuel to the story, and he opened himself to more legal trouble.
The smart move was to not say anything, practice hard and well, listen to his lawyer when it came to the investigation and keep the legal drama to a court room in a controlled setting. He made it a free for all against everyone who wanted to help him's advice. He brought this on himself.
