What about his separated-at-birth twin?

wonder if the NFL is just going to wait until the civil case sorts itself out. Thats what the NBA did and I dont recall there being as much ferver about the Derrick rose situation.

I feel like they are in a bind here and probably shouldve stated that they will wait until the case plays out. By launching their own investigation prior to the legal system playing out they essentially are deciding the case before the courts can.

Next they will interview both Browns whom likely will deny that this event happened. Then it is up to the NFL to decide whom to believe? If they clear brown, then it makes it look like they dont believe women.

But, if they suspend a player based upon an "allegation" in a civil suit, one where he is counter-suing? That opens up all sorts of cans of worms. And it almost puts the hand on the scale to force Brown to settle with her as at that point as he would not be allowed to play based upon a civil suit she put forward.
Let's file a civil suit against Goodell.

Will that finally get him out of our lives?

BTW it'd be legit. Just thinking about that ****head gives me a headache.

There’s no timetable on a possible meeting but, they will do what’s best for the integrity of the game.

I don't see how the Commissioner's list would make any sense. What would he be waiting for. The case would likely be settled. Besides this isn't a criminal trial. If a judge awards her $100K, is that enough for the NFL to suspend, under CBA rules. It seems that the league has much better standing to investigate on its own and make their own decisions.

As an aside, a 4 week suspension before the bye wouldn't hurt us much.

pretty much this. The NFL kind of put themselves in a bind here. With the public outcry they pretty much had to launch an investigation. but I feel they cant win whatever they do. If they didnt do anything, then people would say they didnt care about women....but if they suspend/place brown on the commisioner exemt list based on allegations from a civil lawsuit, that sets precedent that they can suspend any player based upon civil charges....and it also tips the scales in court as it will force him to settle? as his only way off the list would be to admit his guilt and settle the lawsuit.

I think they are going to slow-walk this investigation until they find out what happens in the courts and then act accordingly. remember that Tyreek Hill wasnt suspended once the criminal charges were dropped even if he likely did break his sons arm. And this is Civil charges...

He's getting suspended. No doubt about it

Thought it was today. They met with his accuser for 10 hrs. Don't sound good for AB.
Its good that after 10 hours with her they didn't hear anything so horrific that allowed them to suspend him statim.

Let's wait and see how things shake out before blaming the new WR.
Umm, I think AB was hoping the painter wanted his junk to shake out from behind the small hand towel, but, alas, for him it didn't happen.

A suspension wouldn't hurt the team much, or AB either for that matter. What is horrible is the precedent. Anyone can file a civil suit and get a player suspended. No criminal conduct is required for suspension, not even a civil finding of damages.

It’s possible, I don’t think the majority of the players care about the player rights issues enough to give up anything substantial to do something about it.
I think most players see it as an issue than doesn't really affect them personally. And most of them are right.

Oh man... I love the original Pink Panther movies. The one and only Peter Sellers- master of the deadpan. Only he could do that masterfully and sell the character of Inspector Clouseau so well.

He gets confused between Article 46 and Testicle 46. I know, it doesn't make any sense but he's the one that numbered them.

I actually wonder if the 10 hour length is reflective of the fact that they don't believe her and went to extreme lengths to cover their bases and make sure for when the pitchforks come out.

Meeting begins... tension everywhere. :p

Ya

So I take it that if you saw AB at Gillette and he asked you to take a selfie and get a drink and some lunch you would refuse?
I'd get my photo with him and that'd probably be it. Would I want to attend a party at his place? No. I don't want anything to do with any of the future fallout. Just because a celebrity offers a "normal" person something doesn't mean that invitation should make him sacrifice his values, self-respect, and spotless criminal record.

Unfortunately, we live in a culture that often worships bad/dangerous people and assumes we should bend over backwards for them. That attitude is what gives birth to personas like Antonio Brown.

Now, Bill Belichick or Josh Gordon? They both seem like good people despite their flaws and I'd certainly love to have a drink and lunch with them. Maybe their leadership and positive attitudes will rub off on Brown.

For Antonio Brown? I'm happy to watch him go catch passes from Tom Brady and I'll say the occasional "yay."

there are only 294 pages on this. Get it together people.
