Define "proven". There is no moral or ethical reason for the "court" of public opinion to use the same standard of proof as a court of law. Especially the criminal standard of proof. Remember, for example, that in criminal cases the jury is not allowed to consider past behavior -- even things the accused was convicted of beyond a reasonable doubt. Now, I think that's totally appropriate -- when the state is trying to put someone beyond bars he should only be on trial for that act. But for some member of the public trying to decide to be around the accused in any way? Hell yeah, I'm going to take past behavior into account, and so will you.

Anyhow, just the factual stuff (police reports, court case records, etc.) is enough that I'd never hire Brown for anything or want him around me or any employees/co-workers.
Brown's own Instagram is evidence enough that most people probably wouldn't want to hang out with him. I don't need speculation from witnesses; you can see his priorities plain as day, as he is the one who curated his own narcissistic shrine.

So I take it that if you saw AB at Gillette and he asked you to take a selfie and get a drink and some lunch you would refuse?

absolutely a crime

Its not a crime, he came out from the shower with a towel covering him up and then tried to put himself out on a silver platter with an apple in his mouth for her to pounce on...

He probably thought the artist would be like "Wow... you're so hot, why don't you come over here so i can take that towel off big boy!" like its a bad porno or something

Instead, she saw his crude advance for what it was, probably rolled her eyes, and then went back to working on her mural. She notes that the situation abruptly ended as soon as Brown realized she wasn't biting

Is it awkward and creepy of him to do that? Absolutely. Was it illegal? No it wasn't, because he didn't expose himself, he didn't make any physical contact with her, didn't say anything threatening or harassing in nature from what I read and then quickly walked away when he realized she didn't want to immediately jump his bones at the mere site of him scantily clad

There was no crime committed, she hardly seems scarred or traumatized from that event seeings how she notes that similar or worse things have happened countless times. She basically just laughed at his ridiculous come on, turned around and went back to painting.

Feel dirty writing anything in defense of Brown, but there was no sexual assault or anything of the sort that transpired in that particular situation

One common theme from what I have read that all these debts owed were verbal agreements where AB promised to promote whatever they were selling and didn’t.

It’s also not like these were huge bills for a multimillionaire.

There are two sides to every story.
not true..wasn't just promoting. There was a chef, the fish guy, ect

What’s he owe 100k in total?

Just pay it and move on the guy has made millions.

Wonder if he’s going to stiff AG and TB12
Rosenhaus should take one for the team and make these debts go away.

Manning's lawyers had the athletic trainer he ball-bagged sign an NDA saying she wouldn't talk about it or sue them again, and she sued them multiple times after that and got additional settlements
She sued because they were the ones who broke the terms of the original settlement. Both sides agreed to keep their yaps shut but Archie and Peyton just couldn't do that, so she re-sued them.

The NFL should hire a consultant to conduct an independent investigation.

I can’t believe people really think there will be a lock out lol. NFLPA has no spine and has little to leverage.

They do have leverage. The NFL wants/needs a CBA extension with hopefully more product to offer before engaging the networks in the next round of rights fee negotiations.

The owners need the players to gain an increase in TV revenues, and The NFLPA needs higher tv rights to prevent a possible future contraction of the salary cap. They have a good reason to work together right now to extend the CBA - more money for both.

This is why I’ve been thinking the NFL would not act to exempt Brown and why I was confident Gordon would be reinstated before the season started. These discipline issues only complicate things and no one wants complications when making money is up for discussion.

Thought it was today. They met with his accuser for 10 hrs. Don't sound good for AB.
How can you tell how it sounds for AB just based off the length of the meeting?

It’s possible, I don’t think the majority of the players care about the player rights issues enough to give up anything substantial to do something about it.

If the players want this, then they should negotiate for this right. Until then, the CBA provides the process for this type of issue.

wonder if the NFL is just going to wait until the civil case sorts itself out. Thats what the NBA did and I dont recall there being as much ferver about the Derrick rose situation.

I feel like they are in a bind here and probably shouldve stated that they will wait until the case plays out. By launching their own investigation prior to the legal system playing out they essentially are deciding the case before the courts can.

Next they will interview both Browns whom likely will deny that this event happened. Then it is up to the NFL to decide whom to believe? If they clear brown, then it makes it look like they dont believe women.

But, if they suspend a player based upon an "allegation" in a civil suit, one where he is counter-suing? That opens up all sorts of cans of worms. And it almost puts the hand on the scale to force Brown to settle with her as at that point as he would not be allowed to play based upon a civil suit she put forward.

I wore my Goodell/clown t-shirt twice this week. And I liked it
I just can't believe we remained in Foxborough and we play in Gillette because this idiot acted as an effective mediator between Kraft and the Mass. legislature. He's. Such. A. Tool.
giphy.gif

I think he just bumbled his way into it. Tagliabue sent him here, the state did a 180 and decided having an NFL team here would be beneficial after all, Kraft was ready to pay.

And Kraft still worships this guy. F'd up.

I don't see how the Commissioner's list would make any sense. What would he be waiting for. The case would likely be settled. Besides this isn't a criminal trial. If a judge awards her $100K, is that enough for the NFL to suspend, under CBA rules. It seems that the league has much better standing to investigate on its own and make their own decisions.

As an aside, a 4 week suspension before the bye wouldn't hurt us much.
