He will probably be put on the Commish's exempt list. Doesnt matter if theres criminal charges filed or not. Faces a potential 6 game suspension. If these allegations have any merit, he deserves it.

I agree. But if the allegations are false, a different great injustice would already have been done.

Either way, the truth should come out. This is tragic all around.

.

And you may be correct, but bringing him back and then trading him after the signing of Brown may lead someone to question the sh!tty timing of the events.

He was also traded after Meyers had an acceptable game on a rookie salary. His trade can correlate to many things, depending on what narrative you're trying to promote.

Wonder how things went in the Brady household tonight? Is AB staying there or was that just an offer?

Media fueled public perception drove spygate and deflategate and convinced the public their team is losing because the Pats are "cheaters."
Plus, it’s a topic that’s gained lots of negative attention in the middle of a recent public movement. I know it sounds terrible to say and I’m obviously joking, but accused rapists just don’t get the benefit of the doubt like they used to, especially not in this kind of setting.

When the actual statute is vague prior cases don't matter. The commissioner could easily say "the player is involved in a federally filed lawsuit that asserts a serious sexual crime which would be conduct detrimental to the league. Due to this unusual circumstance, we place him on the exempt list".
Hey, a starting LB who was tried and COVICTED of a felony and awaiting sentencing is being allowed to play. I'm not exactly sure how THAT is "conduct detrimental" and a civil law suit can become one.

His agent had to have known about this and informed NE about it, Drew has a close working relationship with Bill.

We'll never know the answer, at least not anytime soon, but I'd be *really* curious as to BB's answer to the following question:

If Brown hadn't agreed to terms with NE on Sunday afternoon, prior to the SNF game, would Thomas have in fact been active and played? Was he sat because they were actively shopping him as a result of the Brown acquisition?

I understand he's an older player with very limited future upside beyond this year, but I think he may have been able to play 1 fairly good season and contribute in a 4-man rotation of Edelman, Gordon, DT, Dorsett, should Brown have hypothetically not been available ... or not be available moving forward.

It amazes me how much energy is spent being concerned about players like Thomas and Obi who are at best garbage time specialists.

Maybe BB really likes the upside he sees in Jakobi Meyers given his performance and he's locked to the club through 2021 at under $700k/year.

Either way he isnt suiting up if on the exempt list. This was nice while it lasted.

The idea that Brown may have allowed the front office to consider DT expendable is something that reasonable people may consider.

Again, had they traded him before the Brown signing, then I’d be more inclined to believe that Thomas was moved due to something like Meyers. Hell, had they included him in one of the two moves on Monday even after the signing of Brown, I'd probably agree with you.

For what it’s worth, I put it at 50/50. All I did was comment as to how it may make a lousy situation worse.

According to reports the pats were caught off guard by this. So maybe not?

Thank you for illustrating what separates the New England Patriots from the 31 other losers like the superstar Cleveland Browns or the over-the-top talented Pittsburgh Steelers of the past 8 years.

Yeah, but who really cares? It's just Thomas.

What separates Patriots fans from other fans is that you get less of the ridiculous conspiracy nonsense and Neanderthal begging for opposing players to get injured with Pats fans, not this fixation on players who aren't even activated on Sundays.

Yeah, but who really cares? It's just Thomas.
That’s just your opinion, though. There are many who viewed Thomas as a potential contributor, particularly a situational red zone threat, or the kind of veteran WR who could start due to injury at the position.
