Antonio Brown

Nix that idea. According to Quantum, it would be decided solely by Goodell, since it happened under the personal conduct policy.

Goodell will involve a couple of high-level women who specialize in investigations when women are the alleged victims. He will make it look like this was thoroughly investigated and there are checks and balances, but of course we know his ruling will have nothing to do with actual evidence or justice, and it will be at his sole (in)discretion.

I for one agree that the timing sucks. I was on the Jets board earlier reading the reaction to the DT trade when someone commented he hopes DT signed on the dotted line because someone just sued Brown for rape and sexual assault. This cant be happening I thought.
Yeah, I’m not understanding why a couple of posters are acting so weird about it, but tensions are high, so I’ll chalk it up to that.

It was an innocuous post about how the situation sucks even worse since we traded DT away on the same day, too. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with questioning whether the team really expected a new controversy and NFL investigation when they made that move, earlier.

I agree with your thoughts here, which is why I was sure to include the comments like “it shouldn’t matter too much.”

I never once insinuated that the team wouldn’t be great, only that the possibility of losing both in the same day makes the situation worse, that’s all. I would’ve loved to have the deep and talented receiving group that we had yesterday afternoon, that’s all.

I hear ya, Supa, but I'm more concerned about getting the OL some more personnel, not to mention one really good TE. I guess I'm not that emotionally connected to AB. I'm more happy that they kept him AWAY from other teams.

The WR group we saw Sunday night was spectacular. Brady missed a few and was rightfully pissed off at himself after the game for his A- performance ;). The next 7 games are against jamokes. Harry will be back for the 9th game (last before the bye) against the Ravens.

I just don't want AB going to another team. What I see on the entire roster currently for the Pats is incredible as is. But hey, it's just an opinion and I appreciate yours.

Filed today.

It may be presumptive on my part but that fact in and of itself is suggestive of motivation. It's not to say she is motivated by money -- she also deserves the presumption as AB does -- but filing a lawsuit almost right at the moment of his big splash of the biggest franchise of the biggest sport raises one eyebrow.

Schefter reporting the team was caught by surprise with these rape allegations. If true, no way they would have traded DT away.

He wasn't going to play anyway. Thomas is a non-factor.
There’s a reason why Belichick brought him back in the first place, and many were discussing the potential of having a deep and talented receiving group. You’re acting like this idea was exclusively mine.

Yeah, that’s pretty much why I posted my comments. I don’t think they realized how big this was going to be, if they even knew about it at all.

I think people should recognize that the Patriots may have just gotten really hosed by Antonio Brown, which would make them the third victim of his apparent scam.

At the same time, many people thought Thomas was a bottom of the roster player, and there’s not a really solid connection between the two players; it’s not like you could have gotten from Thomas anything close to what you could get from Brown.

Probably better to just sort this out with “the Dorsett line”, which is a theoretical indicator of where you think Thomas actually stands on the depth chart. Above or below Dorsett. I believe he was below Dorsett, and possibly Meyers too. If you believe, contrarily, that he was above Dorsett, the Brown-Thomas potential fallout appears to be very obvious and potentially a big gaffe.

No doubt that the receiving group is low on the list of worries. I was simply pointing out how the lack of news from one may have affected the decision to part with the other, and how the possibility of losing both sucks.

I just hope AB doesn't go crazy on social media trying to put his accuser on blast. That's the last thing he needs and will lead to his quickmexit out of New England. Let this play itself out through the legal system.

I think Thomas would have been traded or cut regardless of Brown.

this is ABs last chance .....if he complained his way out of Pittsburgh, acted like a diva and forced the Raiders hand and then the pats dump him,his career is done,finished..ovah.. not even the most desperate team would toss millions at him

Maybe it's just me, the most enjoyable part of the past few days was the actual FOOTBALL GAME. All this other crapola.............?

.
He will probably be put on the Commish's exempt list. Doesnt matter if theres criminal charges filed or not. Faces a potential 6 game suspension. If these allegations have any merit, he deserves it.

What disciplinary action did the league take after their investigation?

Your hangup on general public perception is weird.

Media fueled public perception drove spygate and deflategate and convinced the public their team is losing because the Pats are "cheaters."

No legal system. Just Goodell, a bunch of whiny owners and media in the midst of the “me too” movement, and an owner who has been rumored to distance himself from any domestic violence issues.

We have a starting safety currently indicted on felony cocaine charges, which could land him behind bars if convicted. There's been no sped-up league investigation, no team suspension/release. As a matter of fact, he had a helluva game on Sunday night.

One doesn't have to go too far back on this site to find a many people assuming the Patriots would be cutting and/or the league would be suspend Chung. And yet here we are.

Not sure. I have noticed many women AND men jump to defend women even if there's no proof AND HECK, there are men who jump to defend women even if they are the villains. However I do agree with your post.
The response by EVERY woman in this thread seems to belie your statement with every post they made.

I bet some would.

And you may be correct, but bringing him back and then trading him after the signing of Brown may lead someone to question the sh!tty timing of the events.

Belichick just cut 2 players on Monday, neither of which were DT. You’ve got to admit that the timing makes you wonder, that’s all.
