Gronk joking about coming back for week 14

When has he ever had a chance to play with this much talent, or even close, in the receiving corps? Who would opposing defenses double? He had to be having visions of getting single-covered on every play when AB was signed.

Just imagine, though: Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, Antonio Brown, and Rob Gronkowski all lined up at the same time on the line of scrimmage. Cornerbacks and linebackers would be cursing under their breaths every play.

i think he misses playing football already

He is such an attention whore.
I wonder what he will do to stay in the public eye. If he isn't going to play football, he'll need something else since he loves being the life of the party. Hopefully becoming Joe Namath 2.0 won't be his trajectory.

I Loved Gronk and he will forever be one on my all time favorites.

But........Enough already. Either come back and play or go join the WWE. His act is getting old. Like when he was out the year and we won the SB without him. He was on the Duckboat and it was all about him.

As much as he is funny and entertaining. Sometimes he needs to know when to take a step back regarding the team. It is their time now not his. If he comes back then have at it. He would then be part of the team

Maybe he can be Dean Martin? Act drunk in public but really be drinking apple juice?

A marketing ploy for his CBD product?? Any publicity is good publicity...

His return chances are slim and none, the return fantasy is stoked by local and national mediots..

Consider what happened to Ben Watson when he tried to heal in the offseason and his use of "banned substances"... I suspect Gronk as most other players try to take some "shortcuts"...

It's Gronk who is stoking the flames. When asked or voluntarily he always leaves the door open. Always.

It's his identity. It's who he is. I get that he is hanging on to it. Can't imagine it's easy.

Gronk is in-between worlds .

But... we're so thin at WR/TE

Actually, knocking on wood as I type it. You're never safe.

That's actually a good way to think about it... we could need him at any moment, he could need to be back at any moment... and them ol bones need time to heal (not to mention his melon, which sounds like it's almost as dented as that lombardi, no disrespect intended, because he might eat me.)

I think he’ll be back. Like others have said, he keeps talking about “if” he comes back. He doesn’t stop addressing it. Even if it’s in a joking fashion, he won’t stop addressing it. I know he gets asked a lot, but he can just say, I’m retired. He doesn’t do that, just keeps talking about hypotheticals.

I think he’s finally physically healthy, when he gets mentally healthy, meaning when he feels like he loves football and the grind again, he will come back. Would not be surprised to see him in a Pats uniform by week 10

Staying relevant keeps the money flowing in.

Can’t blame him.

This. He's always banked his salary and lived off his endorsements. He's just keeping it flowing for as long as he can. If people turn the cameras on him, he's going to keep smiling.

Brady has shown these guys that football is a platform for creating a lifelong income stream. Edelman is giving it a go. Gronk is giving it a go. There are others on the team with the charisma and presence to do it if they wanted - eg. the McCourty twins could make a bundle if they tried, for example; the public loves happy twins.

Stay retired if you're gonna be hanging out with Portnoy

He can’t come back that late anyways. Has to be back by the trade deadline or not at all, IIRC.

I figured he would stay retired. Now I expect he will want to come back. I think this is Brady's last year and will be complete circus - I mean that is a good way

We all just laugh and make jokes about it hoping it might happen...meanwhile the rest of the
league:
