Antonio Brown

Well we’ve managed to go 48 hours without any extra craziness from AB. I remember when they first signed Gordon before his suspension, they had a guy watch over him to make sure he wouldn’t get into any trouble but he lost track of Gordon and Gordon got caught and suspended. I really want it to work out because we have the potential to have a badass football team.

I am not concerned about the near future with him at all. The critical time with him will start towards the final stretch of the regular season when he realizes that he will not get many of the incentives in his contract. How will he react to that ?

The really interesting question to me is how Brown behaved in his first 3-4 years as a Steeler. From the outside it seems to me like he became a lot more eccentric after he got his big deal. Which would fit with everything we have learned about him in the last few years.. which is that he equates respect with money.

If that is the case then I think there is a good chance he will keep his head low and work for his new deal wherever that might be in 2020+

The way this number thing is playing out let’s just give AB this

Member when we were thinking Maurice Harris was possibly going to be our #2 or #3 WR?

AB is taking such a beating that he may put up a huge performance this year just to prove the haters wrong.

So, America, keep hating!

imagine Belichick sitting down during a team meeting going over film like usual and ripping apart AB with his words. I cant see that going well unless AB decides to change
Moss was a Diva and got sent home because he was 15 minutes late during a driving snow storm. If Brady gets ripped on a daily basis then AB better get use to it or his ass is going to be shown the door. We will see if he drinks the kool-aid or punts it

Bill is being cagy on EEI. Big surprise

Back to “Number-gate”, the team just released Stephen Anderson from the practice squad, who was wearing #82.

So maybe it’s just as simple as Brown getting #84 anyway and Watson going back to his previous #82.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that the full terms of Brown's contract are as follows: $1 million fully guaranteed in base salary, a $9 million signing bonus ($5 million now, $4 million later), $500,000 in 46-man roster bonuses and performance incentives of $1.5 million for each of these -- 105 catches, 1,298 yards, 16 TDs, or just more than Brown's 2018 production (104/1,297/15).

Just $6MM guaranteed. $10.5MM likely contract for one year. The $4.5MM performance bonuses aren’t likely with a 15 game schedule and time to get up to speed with offense.

Just waiting to see how he reacts to not getting 84 (and I'm really hoping Ben doesn't give it up to him). If he takes another number without a squeak then I think he might last the season. If he throws a twitter tantrum before the first practice I don't think he'll make the field.

Ooh good call, let's see how this plays out.

Tom Curren said Pittsburgh writers stated the reason Ben faked throwing the ball so much was because he didn't know where Brown was going. Brown did not run crisp routes. That makes me wonder if he will last to November.
Belichick says he is an elite route-runner.

Could be the scribes are covering for Ben?

We kind of get you don't like this move, since you have been complaining about it since it happened. Why don't you calm down a bit and enjoy it for a while.

If you want to see somebody hang on to an opinion like a pit bull, ask @Actual Pats Fan what he thinks of the flying Elvis. (No dis, just saying, APF is very, very annoyed about that particular piece of artwork)

Obi has been waived.

He shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.

Now, if we still had our Jesus coach, Jack Easterbunny, he could put AB in a trance and make him a compliant angel.

No thanks. He was supposed to keep Josh on the straight and narrow and he blew it.

A complete aside that does not mean all that much, the top ten articles that have the most comments at Pro Football Talk all have to do with Antonio Brown.. not sure it means all that much, but a lot of folks got a lot of opinions on AD and his signing..
