Pats acquire OL Jermaine Eluemunor from Ravens

Line must be in shambles if trading for two never will bes....

Kinda surprised at this since the guy failed his conditioning test with the Ravens to start TC and couldn't win their LG job.. Hopefully it's a conditional pick..

Dude, knock it the hell off with the lame-ass trolling. If you're going to troll, do better. Ridiculous commentary about trading for backups, after a team's starting center was (likely) lost for the season just a couple of days ago, isn't even elementary school level trolling.

There are a handful of teams that are as weak in OL depth as the Pats (or weaker). They may be trying to grab the best of the likely cuts before the cuts, because there won't be much left after the teams ahead of them grab their guys off of waivers.

"Deuce" lol

He should fit in as Scar likes kids who have wrestling backgrounds and Nate has someone to talk to about rugby.

It’s like telling him to stop breathing though.

It seems strange to trade for two O-lineman and neither has any experience at center.
Hmm, here's how i see it

Center is the QB of the line, he makes calls for protection and needs to know what the QB likes.

So no one outside our OL has that kind of chemistry with Brady. If Karras (Our current starter) goes down, it's better to keep the chemistry going with Thuney (or Mason) at C and another guy can fill the LG spot, which isn't as critical

So

Wynn
Thuney
Karras
Mason
Cannon

Cunningham
Froholdt
Eluemunor

at this point?
At least they will audition tomorrow night. It does suggest to me that an important injury at center would mean shuffling the OL rather than subbing one position.

The open question is whether Froholdt is ready to play center if Karras goes down, and also who is the emergency 3rd center.

I suspect that Ferentz or Croston is still in the mix

So

Wynn
Thuney
Karras
Mason
Cannon

Cunningham
Froholdt
Eluemunor

at this point?

For roster purposes, does Andrews going down change the Patriots approach to week one by forcing them to keep one more OL than they might have prior?

I think that's a question that would be worth asking, if BB would answer it.

It does sort of scream "Thuney could be moving to center, if needed.", doesn't it?

I'm actually fine with Thuney as the emergency #3 center. The open question is whether Froholdt is our #2.

We've got two pages into a discussion of the O-line roster and no one has mentioned Yodny Cajuste. The Pats picked him in the 3rd round and must have known he was recovering from surgery. Surely he's in their plans somewhere.

I've got to admit he's a binky of mine for his name alone. Doesn't it just roll off the tongue?

Yeah that's about right. Though I'm wondering who the back up C would be.

Clearly, they know that Andrews is gone for the season, and Skipper not the answer as swing T. They brought in 2 guys who were considered decent prospects coming out and will take a shot at both. Again, for me the draft picks at then end of the scale are meaningless, especailly since the Pats have so many 2020 picks. Even with the 2 trades IIRC, the Pats still have 12 left for next April.

All that being said, the Pats still have Casjuste in the background. Are they going to give him the entire year off, or will one of these guys go when he comes back after the first 6 games?

STILL seems like a pretty big turnover so late in the process.
